Singer and actress Thembi Seete is coming back to the small screen – this time to’s soapie Rhythm City as Bongi.WATCH

Johannesburg - Broadcaster on Thursday warned the public about a scam asking people to pay R500 to audition for a spot on Rhythm City.

An e-mail circulating on social media, purported to come from the soap opera's actress Amo Chidi, asks people to register and pay to attend the audition at's offices on Saturday, the broadcaster said in a statement.

Auditions for the soap opera were co-ordinated through Rhythm City’s production company, Quizzical Pictures, and were free of charge. They were not organised by any third party or cast members.
