2011-10-01 11:03

Johannesburg - A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Friday for allegedly stabbing his employer and trying to assault a police officer on a farm in Willowmore in the Eastern Cape, police said.

The teenager was arguing with his girlfriend around 14:00 when the farm owner intervened, Warrant Officer Zandisile Nelani said.

He grabbed a fork and stabbed the 47-year-old man twice in the chest. The farm owner suffered two minor wounds.

Police were alerted and rushed to the scene.

"A scuffle broke out as the teen resisted arrest and tried to beat one of the officers with his fists. They overpowered him and to took him [in]to custody," Nelani said.

The teenager was working as a cattle herder on the farm and living in his employer's yard.

He was expected to face a charge of assault in the Willowmore Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Bye bye employment and accommodation - what an idiot!

      GTA_Lad - 2011-10-01 11:28

No attempted murder charge after stabbing someone?

      Slimjan49 - 2011-10-01 11:31

GTA_Lad, It only happens if your'e white

      G.du Plessis - 2011-10-01 12:13

I think that stabbing someone with a fork is assault, not attempted murder. MOre likely to kill them from a punch

      Really1 - 2011-10-01 13:23

Not all farm attacks are about wages. It is only wages when the farmer is dead.

    One bullet one attacker........

Thus why I don't and would never get involved when two love birds have problem, I did not bring them together in the first place so I stay way. I mean what is in for me I am sure that is what the other bird is asking?

      Kate - 2011-10-01 11:54

Hey?????? You are trying to say what?

      farmworker - 2011-10-01 12:09

@Kate ask someone to read it for you, I am sure that would help

      Thandiwe83 - 2011-10-01 12:15

@farmworker - do you know these people then?

      farmworker - 2011-10-01 12:23

@Thandiwe83 Well I don't know them but I am just giving an advice to all those wanna be heros that whenever lovers have arguments or fights please try to stay as far away as possible unless you are a police man or something.

      Thandiwe83 - 2011-10-01 12:32

Yeah I agree - stay away from fighting couples, in fact anyone who fights. Like Like COSATU who fight job creation

      farmworker - 2011-10-01 12:37

@Thandiwe83 you missed it right there with COSATU because it is a totally different thing altogether. I am talking about two people who are in love, who shud be able to resolve their issues on their own

      darkwing - 2011-10-01 14:05

Farmworker, we don't know what was going on between the lovers. Is it right to leave a man to beat up on a woman if this was maybe the case? Maybe he was on the verge of killing the woman. We don't know. I have neighbours who fight from time to time. Phew! they scream and swear at each other, but there's no physical violence, so we let it be.

attacking a police officer as well, sounds mentally challenged to me, are we allowed to say retarded here, everything is so full of politically correct garbage these days

      Really1 - 2011-10-01 13:25

The cop slipped up, he should have put a bullet between da eyes.

@Julius_S_Malema this is all your fault man; stop it with the singing of shoot the boer song

      farmworker - 2011-10-01 12:11

      Whatever you say @Unknown Citizen

      chingon - 2011-10-01 12:45

@unknown citizen, please think before you just rattle off, in this situation, I do not think that song had anything to do with it. Not everything is about JM.

      Mswati - 2011-10-01 13:25

No brains at all unknown citizen

  • OZNOB - 2011-10-01 13:44

@really1 if you read the article the teenager was argueing with his girlfriend when the farmer intervened thats when the problems started . though i am surprised that they did not throw the book at hin for assaulting the police officer as well, What he did was a very career limiting move and thinking was certainly the last thing he was doing

  • Woofix - 2011-10-01 13:46

Another proof of the black culture. If you get angry you must kill. No fear cause that is what Malema teach and what Desmond preach.

      Sbuda - 2011-10-01 15:54

let me re-read the article again, I miss the part of "black" boy.

      Kenko - 2011-10-03 11:18

@Sbuda - I hear you, but's let's be honest. Stabbing seems to come natural to blacks, hence the assumption that the boy is black. My question is: What type of fork? Was it an eating utensil or a garden fork? The distinction makes one hell of a difference.
