Eastern Cape man arrested for drugs

Johannesburg - An Eastern Cape man was arrested for possession of dagga and Mandrax in Ndabakazi, outside Butterworth, on Wednesday, said police.

"In his shack [police found] 40 full boxes of Mandrax tablets, 10 halves of Mandrax tablets and four quarter Mandrax tablets which have a street value of R12 800," said Captain Jackson Manatha.

Dagga worth about R6 000 on the street was also confiscated.

The man would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Thursday on a charge of possession of drugs.
