Eastern Cape man arrested for murder

Johannesburg - A man was arrested on Wednesday for killing his cousin and wounding another in Zwelitsha, King William's Town, Eastern Cape police said.

Major Ernest Sigobe said the 29-year-old man hacked his 16-year-old female cousin to death with a spade around 06:00.

He also injured his 15-year-old female cousin with a spade on her upper body. Sigobe said it was believed the man was under the influence of drugs during the attack.

The injured teenager was taken to Grey Hospital for treatment.

The man was expected to appear in the Zwelitsha Magistrate's Court soon on charges of murder and attempted murder.
