EduSolutions denies Malema link

2012-09-22 17:08

Johannesburg - There is no link between a warrant for the arrest of former ANC Youth League president Julius Malema and EduSolutions, the company said on Saturday.

Executive director Mateli Mpuntsha said he was surprised by a report linking Malema to a corruption investigation into a tender awarded to the company in 2010.

"EduSolutions refutes any alleged professional or personal relationship with Mr Malema and would like to emphasise that it has never been approached by the anti-corruption task team in relation to this matter," Mpuntsha said in a statement.

According to an unsourced report in the Weekend Argus, the warrant for Malema's arrest was linked to EduSolutions and that more warrants - for Limpopo education officials - were expected in the same case.

Malema is expected to appear in a Polokwane court next week.

The City Press reported on Friday that Malema faced charges of money laundering, corruption and fraud relating to his Ratanang Family Trust and its share holding in On-Point Engineering, a company that allegedly made millions from Limpopo government tenders.

EduSolutions was the company tasked with supplying textbooks to Limpopo schools. It has been embroiled in controversy arising from the late delivery of the textbooks this year.

There is a link, they both fail to DELIVER...on their promises.

      squeegee.pilot - 2012-09-22 17:14

Anyway what do you expect them to say? "We are guilty..?" Not going to happen. Deny, deny deny!

      rbphiri - 2012-09-22 17:25

Yeap it's standard procedure these days

      themba.thwala.98 - 2012-09-22 19:30

Sibande, all you can do is swear. Can you express a view? I guess people who faileds woodwork can onlu shout others down and swear at them, just like Juju-boy you role model and president who lives in a mansion while you live in a shack :)

  • danie.smit.587 - 2012-09-22 17:36

How true is the story that only a brainless person knock his toe twice against the same stone? If the ANC won Limpopo again , what does it say about the majority of the voters? Could it be true?

      Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 17:43

      You know it's true...

  • larry.piggott1 - 2012-09-22 17:40

How many times has the word "deny" been used, when it turns out to be true? Its the only defence for corruption.

  • Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 17:42

You as a youngster should learn to better and educate yourself to get somewhere in life and stop expecting to get everything handed to you because you are "special". Get off your backside and work for what you want. Male a can't save himself, never mind you!

  • xolani.mtshali.75 - 2012-09-22 17:42

  • Notrax123 - 2012-09-22 17:48

EduSolutions you have missed an oppurtunity to blame your stuff-up on the bogey man. You are openly admitting that your poor delivery is your sole doing - bravo

  • Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 18:08

@beki -maak toe jou Bekkie. It's not about freedom of speech, it's about corruption and enticing violence.

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-22 18:15

      You're so naïve Hendrik!

  • John - 2012-09-22 18:10

I have been reading these Malema articles, and I don't understand you people. You ramp, rave and shout at the ANC all day long. You moan and moan about anything that is posted about the ANC. Like a bunch of old hags. All of you. Then.... when the ANC do get a bit of opposition, you want to hang, shoot and jail the guy. Geez, make up your minds now and get a life.

      nettie.potgieter.5 - 2012-09-22 18:16

Gees John must we support a criminal because he seems to be opposition to the ANC. Eish!!!!!!

Never fear, if there is a "link," our media sleuths will sniff it out. 9 times out of 10, where there's smoke, there's fire!

  • Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 18:26

At least I can think for myself and not put my trust in someone as uneducated as Malema. Bet I am naive for thinking he will go to jail for being corrupt. Guess we'll see.

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-22 18:40

Hendrik, if you do not understand something then learn to ask! My comment does not, in anyway or form, seek to defend Malema, but seeks to highlight a deeper problem in the ANC. Do not jump to conclusions my friend. Malema has to have his day in court and if found guilty MUST serve his time in jail just like any other criminal. However, any right thinking South African should be concerned about the manner in which this is playing out. I'll say it again, if we are not careful we'll soon witness all opposing views being charged with some crime overnight and jailed. The timing of the arrest, considering Malema's recent activities, is questionable.

  • Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 18:34

Best would be if fat boy simply keeled over from a heart attack due to his clogged arteries and the weight of his watch! Bhahahaha! Amen

      bobby.rosewood.1 - 2012-09-22 21:39

Try to stay focused, Beki's got a point. It's not about personal likes or dislikes, it's about our country's future, OK?

  • sifiso.msimango - 2012-09-22 18:40

malema sorry boet, same song but different tunes, when days are dark, unfortunately you can count friends

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-22 19:31

Do you mean he CAN'T count, period?

      joe.mangena.1 - 2012-09-22 19:37

No boet, not for commander in chief.

  • Hendrik JJ Kruger - 2012-09-22 18:45

I'll watch with interest how the ANC implodes on itself. They are destroying themselves. Lovely.

  • anthony.kay.965 - 2012-09-22 18:49

Watch this space, this is the start. Juju is not going down without a fight. He is used to big and easy money now, and he is going to spill the beans. He may lie, but he is going to implicate others. Is going to be a good show.

  • anthony.kay.965 - 2012-09-22 18:51

Shame, and i thought he was going to be a good president.

  • beki.khumalo - 2012-09-22 19:21

I'm puzzled as to why News24 would delete my comment! Therefore I'll repost it. THE DIRTY ROAD TO MANGAUNG::: Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe has defended expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema, saying South Africa's Bill of Rights guarantees everyone a right to express him or herself without fear or favour.....… stop the censorship News24!

      John - 2012-09-22 22:19

Even Mothlante needs to read Bill of Rights section 16 (2)(b) and (c). No one has the right to violate the LIFE or PROPERTY of any MAN or WOMAN!

  • joel.mafolo - 2012-09-22 19:39

It seems some Zuma factionalist in some law enforcement agency is using state resources to settle political scores. And now these trumped up charges. I think we need a Commission of Inquiry into this abuse of power under the Zuma administration. This is not acceptable.

      casskot - 2012-09-22 20:37

The last time \lightning struck\ some MEC also called for a commission of inquiry...

      John - 2012-09-22 22:35

The charges are NOT trumped up! malMalema has lost the umbrella of protection under the cANCer! This is a typical LOOK over there, do not look at what I am up to syndrome!

      sibusiso.mhlongo.35 - 2012-09-23 15:02

joe one thing u must know and understand is that this investigation started long time ago and infact when it started malema and zuma were still friends so i dont think anyone is using the law enforcment agaencies for political gains here. if there was any political interference montlanthe would be the one arrested since he is the only threat to zuma's political career. believe me malema is just nothing, whether in jail or not in jail he will not succeed. yes if u talk about the wise men such as fikile mbalula who have the direction, who know what they want for this country i will agree with u. malema is a millionare who claims to be representing the poor, an unempolyed who claims to be representing the workers so i mean whether we like zuma for the second term or not but malema is the worst ANC YL president ever or should i say was?

  • Themba Patric Sibande - 2012-09-22 19:40

it is a one way trying to put a point across but but being trying to impress others with your own kind is not ayoba @Beki,since i followed news 24 i came to know that whites hate us,so it makes my blood boil seeing Themba doing this, maybe Malema is an ass but he is being persecuted for being vocal and talking the truth, not even a single person here can point to the so called wrong doings from him.And yet they speak gabbage and call us names.Wake up black men.

      themba.thwala.98 - 2012-09-22 19:51

Yeah, the AWB\\Die Boeremag hate black people. The odd 50 or so regular haters here represent white people? Is that scientific? And where did I impress others? If someone talks rubbish, I descend to their level and give him the same rubbish 10 fold. And this regardless of whether they are black or white or in between. You are probably a themba come lately, but think you know me when you clearly don't

      bobby.rosewood.1 - 2012-09-22 21:42

Don't generalize please? I'm as white as your underpants and I don't hate anyone.

      John - 2012-09-22 22:28

I hate criminals and I do NOT care what race they are. Keep your sick racism to yourself! White racists are just as sick as black racists! As are any in between! They are the sick MINORITY of South Africans!

      sally.lewitt - 2012-09-22 22:30

Mm.. Is gabbage a new language? hey my black bro's, please teach me!

      grant.montgomery.5074 - 2012-09-23 09:47

@ Bobby. Have you seen his underpants recently? I'm told they are gross.

  • popeye.sailor.1884 - 2012-09-22 19:59

I had another look at that painting, I still think it is Malema hanging from Zuma’s pants !

      Bwah bwah

  • Themba Patric Sibande - 2012-09-22 20:01

We maybe garden boys but we know where we stand, see garden boy i follow no wrong and if Malema did wrong let the courts prove it,I hate corruption and I also hate those who forget where they come from.Sorry white wanna be.

      themba.thwala.98 - 2012-09-22 20:48

You are even more stupid than I gave you credit for. As Malema's news24 lawyer, Why don't you mention Malema's On Point Engineering and explain what its business is in the Dep of Transport? The Ratanang Trust? How does he afford the Range Rovers (2) that he drives, the Mercs, the Louis Vuittons, the two mansions when he admittedly earned only R25k? And who is “we”? Did anyone appoint you to represent them? I hate idiots too. Sorry, you super-moron!

Ja where there is any kind of money you will find the corrupt pigs fighting at the trough. They are all going to be exposed shortly and then they are going to eat each other for breakfast. These corrupt cadres believe that enriching themselves is their right and have become so arrogant at it. Then they blame the man in the street for the poors plight. They wont share theirs but we must give away ours. Nice country we are living in but soon the world is going to wake up.
