Elderly North West man killed with shovel

Johannesburg - No arrest has been made in connection with the murder of an elderly man in Ifafi, Hartbeespoort Dam near Brits, North West police said on Wednesday.

"No one has been arrested at the moment and investigation continues," said Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone.

He said a 75-year-old man was killed on Sunday night at his house in Ifafi.

"It is alleged the suspect hit a 75-year-old man with a shovel and [the man] was certified dead on the scene. The suspect allegedly went away with [a] television, two cellphones, tablet, and wedding ring."

A case of house robbery and murder had been opened.
