Explain Mpuma textbook dumping - DA

2012-08-10 17:03

Johannesburg - The department of education must explain the recent dumping of textbooks by the side of a road in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga, the DA said on Friday.

"The MEC [Reginah Mhaule] must explain where the textbooks came from, why they were dumped and who was contracted to get rid of them," spokesperson James Masango said.

The books were found three weeks ago.

The Democratic Alliance said it had evidence of the textbooks lying on the side of a road.

Mhaule should explain whether EduSolutions, which is contracted to distribute books in the province, was involved in the incident, said Masango.

"The MEC needs to re-assure the public that Mpumalanga will not repeat the Limpopo textbook saga and the tragic crisis of the dumping of books."

Jasper Zwane, spokesperson for the department, said he did not know anything about the incident.

"That is news to me. I will inquire from officials in Komatipoort," he said.

  • el.torro.509 - 2012-08-10 17:12

7 month investigation, blame the third force, shuffle around some members and problem solved is the ANC way. In any other country these officials would have fallen on their swords already rather than being fired. This is a disgusting waste of limited resources and a betrayal of our kids.

      koos.vandermerwe.75 - 2012-08-10 17:59

@SiyandaWalterMda: MMmmm now where have I heard that before?

  • andre.vandeventer.16 - 2012-08-10 17:15

Come election time and the millions illiterates and ignorant literates will vote for the ANC again!

      Christo Groenewald - 2012-08-10 17:19

F the poor and illiterate Viva rich ANC political leaders! (cANCer motto)

  • devon.riley.52 - 2012-08-10 17:25

They don't seem to have any respect for the enviroment either, or for themselves for that matter. Disgusting

  • justin.pretorius - 2012-08-10 17:27

Proof the regime does not regard education as a priority. The regime only requires mindless masses for its aim nothing more

  • kim.buren - 2012-08-10 17:31

Clearly the ANC do not care about the education is this country. Then what DO they care about? Ah, enriching themselves, YES !!

  • douglas.reid.921 - 2012-08-10 17:36

No consequence so who cares, DA just a spoilsport stopping the comrades from enjoying their well deserved economic freedom. Chinese law would fix this.

  • Mzimba58 - 2012-08-10 17:36

I think their is a third force in this Textbook saga just to discredit the ANC Government and most certainly engineered by those who believe in Opposition Politics at all cost!! Why Limpopo? I suspect even those who opposed Black majority rule are in this saga!! Tender Heads like the Malemas are being used in this Dirt Tact!!! Is connected to Ellectioneering or is it not??

      nettie.potgieter.5 - 2012-08-10 17:41

Mzimba I think you are right that is exactly how the ANCYL act.

      el.torro.509 - 2012-08-10 17:44

No there's no third force. The ANC discredit themselves by appointing morons to do the jobs by virtue of them being a party booty kisser rather than expertise. Nobody is opposed to black majority rule, we are opposed in failure and inept rule, theft and abuse of taxpayers money

      sharon.a.marks.9 - 2012-08-10 17:53

mzimba,it looks like you lot enjoy being raped over and over again, you even try to make weak excuses to cover your enjoyment of the rape,at the end of the day you deserve it

      mike.down.5492 - 2012-08-10 18:12

Mzimba, don't forget to ask for taxi money in the morning.

      irene.buthelezi.1 - 2012-08-10 18:14

Mzimba ~ Stop looking for excuses and just face the reality that cANCer are pure, unadulterated filth - from the top to the most lowly supporter. Filthy ignorant scum. It has absolutely nothing to do with black majority rule WHATSOEVER, but EVERYTHING to do with sheer incompetence.

      Erna - 2012-08-10 18:46

You're dead right Mzimba - the 3rd force is Verwoerd risen from the dead! That's what your leader says.

      Desilusionada - 2012-08-10 19:46

@Mzimba58 Obviously you are one of those that never got a book or education, otherwise you would have been able to string a couple of words together that a) made sense and b) was remotely grammatical. So learn from your own experience. Stop listening to people sprouting conspiracy BS in your ears. There IS NO 3rd Force or even 3rd Slight Effort or Very Light 3rd Exertion. . Wake up and discover that if Africa in general, and South Africa in particular, want to be a factor in Africa and even the world, you must have an education AND in English as well!!

      Desilusionada - 2012-08-10 19:53

In fact looking at your FB page and seeing: "spent a long time in Europe Studying and researching why Blacks are considered as weak mentally for Good Positions in many Countries including their own mother Land!!", I can understand why you spent such a long time studying, if you really believe that the IFP, DA, UDM or any party would take the trouble to buy up school books and then dump them next to a road. This patently when ANC managed schools acknowledged themselves that they did not receive schoolbooks. Limpopo is dysfunctional and with the ANC firing and redeploying their own cadres, you believe it is electioneering?... DUH

  • george.michaelides.71 - 2012-08-10 17:41

    BLAH BLAH...........NEXT.....USELESS...F@RKERS

  • michael.bushes - 2012-08-10 17:44

I just went to wikipedia and found this: "The population of Limpopo consists of several ethnic groups distinguished by culture, language and race. 97.3% of the population is Black, 2.4% is White, 0.2% is Coloured, and 0.1% is Indian/Asian." Minority groups dont even exceed 3%, no wonder Limpopo is such a dump. Imagine who renders "services" at local municipalities LOL

      koos.vandermerwe.75 - 2012-08-10 18:01

      I don't have to imagine.

  • ahenriquesfernandes - 2012-08-10 17:48

This is all related to the broken tender system. Ask yourselves: "Why were these books dumped?" The only answer I can come up with is to create a reason to replace them with new ones. And since gov is soooooooOOOOooooo freaking corrupt the job goes to incompetent companies that don't know what they are doing so the books ever get replaced anyway. Nothing will change. This "investigation" will carry on and on and no one will be held accountable. And next year maybe some intelligence will shine through but it won't be for the benefit of South African children - no, the "improvement" will be that they learn from their mistakes and burn the books instead of dumping them. The whole thing makes me sick

  • bradley.kecskes - 2012-08-10 17:48

    LOL...It is apartheids fault...duuuh

      Erna - 2012-08-10 18:39

Not apartheid - according to Zuma, Verwoerd's to blame!!

  • charlesmakgale.radingoane - 2012-08-10 17:52

this is war without guns against young south african 's education

  • Rodney - 2012-08-10 18:01

is how the tender system work to generate money, they dump and fast two out, they order new books. Edu solution/freinds of zuma need to be investicated.

  • ChrisMashimbyi - 2012-08-10 18:07

wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute!, is this a battle of the political parties or a battle for education of young kids?. you disgraceful political parties, using our children's education crises to get votes on the next election!

      irene.buthelezi.1 - 2012-08-10 18:16

Wait a minute. Don't you dare rope the DA into this. The problem is as a result of cANCer and lies squarely at their door. The DA don't control the education department and nor are they in control of ordering or destroying textbooks. Sorry for you pal, this one belongs to cANCer 100% and if it wasn't for the DA, you'd be none the wiser!

      Erna - 2012-08-10 18:28

Thank goodness for the watchdog DA - without them and the media the anc would literally get away with murder!

      Desilusionada - 2012-08-10 20:37

@ChrisMashimbyi - "About Me:I love making opinions, I'm a concerned citizen, most preferably i call my self an intrepid self-instituted political analyst and a socialite, a current affairs kind of a guy. plus i got that attitude of a college kid. cherry on top!,i will have a model wive. ON YOUR OWN FB PAGE!!!!!!!! No wonder, but then again I can understand seeing that you have the attitude of a college kid and cannot even use a spell-checker. Wake up and realize that some of these "bigoted, racist whiteys who vote for the DA" sic actually understand that education is more important than politics. A party like the ANC can be voted out given enough education, but without education there is no future for South Africa. That is unless you like the ZIM model.

  • altusvanzyl - 2012-08-10 18:13

Damn im going to go pick them up and go to paperweight $$$$$$$$$$$$!!

  • mantsho.tlali - 2012-08-10 18:30

ANC 'S Fault, unorganised and luck of leadership make them do this things. This is the people, who are going to rule until Jesus come, according to their well uneducated supporters.

  • Itu Santino Cortez - 2012-08-10 18:35

So they dump small amounts of textbooks all over limpopo again and again so that the nation can focus all of its attention away from jacob zuma Edu solution = tenders , is it a theory or the truth ?

  • gcj.wood - 2012-08-10 18:39

Of course they're gonna dump the books, because each educated person who lifts themselves out of poverty through learning and hard work equals one less vote! At least they haven't started public burning of books (yet!)

      ingi.raikes - 2012-08-10 19:08

Ja, you are so right, l couldn't have said it better!!!

      mark.haupt.31 - 2012-08-10 19:28

Don't count on that not happening.....

  • alasdair.muir.796 - 2012-08-10 19:32

Why does the DA have to call for this, the ANC should be jumping up and down to sort this out! Stop making excuses and just do your job. ffs

  • duncan.olds.9 - 2012-08-10 19:32

We are not re-assured of anything!!

  • jack.mabrigado - 2012-08-10 19:37

Whoever I'd behind this textbook must please stop this stupidity. Stop destroying our future please. This is a worthless political statement.

  • eddy.modiba - 2012-08-10 19:47

How do DA alwyz knw dat bookz hv bn dumped?mmm intrstn.Pls ANC bookz r damn expensive

  • jerry.medina.756 - 2012-08-10 19:58

I think the enemies of progress have everything to do with this. I will not be surprised if it's some of these boeremag sympathisers in this forum. I mean why dump them when you can easily burn them so that they can never be found?

  • Ditantane - 2012-08-10 21:07

interesting how the DA always know where to find these books.

      lacrimose.wolf - 2012-08-10 22:36

Interesting how the ANC always know where to deliver these books

  • lacrimose.wolf - 2012-08-10 22:37

You're asking the impossible. First you'd have to ask every member of the entire chain what their jobs are. And they cannot answer without incriminating themselves
