Cape Town - The family of Anni Hindocha will on Thursday mark the fourth anniversary of her death while she was on honeymoon in Cape Town.

Anni was shot dead when she and her husband, Shrien Dewani, were hijacked in Gugulethu on 13 November 2010. He is currently on trial in the Western Cape High Court for allegedly hiring hitmen to murder her.

The trial has been adjourned to allow both the Hindocha and Dewani families time to mark the anniversary on Thursday. The Cape Times reported that this apparently followed a request from Dewani.

According to Eyewitness News, the Hindocha family will visit the place where her body was found in an abandoned shuttle taxi in Khayelitsha four years ago. They will lay flowers at the spot, and then offer prayers at a Hindu temple.

Prayers will also be offered in Sweden, where she grew up, according to EWN.

eNCA journalist Leigh-Anne Jansen tweeted that the Dewani family will have private prayers to mark the occasion.

On Wednesday, the case adjourned early because the next State witness to be called - a primer residue expert - was not available until Friday.
