Queenstown - Three people were killed on Friday morning during a robbery in Ntabankulu, near Queenstown in the Eastern Cape, police said.

Captain Mlungisi Matidane said a Pakistani merchant and his watchman were shot dead in Bhonxa location.

The merchant and his South African girlfriend heard their watchman scream just after midnight.

Four men appeared at the back door of the shop, demanding money.

"They continued to ask for money, and when the Pakistani national said he had no more money, they shot and killed him," said Matidane.

The watchman was also killed by the gang, he said.

The woman started screaming, alerting neighbours.

The men ran away, and a gunshot was heard.

"One of the suspects was killed by the other suspects," he said.

"We are still making a call to the surrounding community. They must come and identify the men."

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

RIP- Mr shopkeeper and guard... Maybe one of the robbers developed a conscious? or maybe -more likely- someone didn't want to share the loot? Such senseless violence :(

" One of the suspects was killed by the other suspects," he said. I hope the " suspect " that was killed was the one who shot the Pakistani & the watchman.

Yes well never mind, let's take a ride on a train rather and see how our public transport system is working. I mean we have to prioritise right? After all, there is crime all over the world so what's the fuss about? What a country. Seriously, another senseless murder. They had the money, why kill?

He probably shot his accomplice coz he wants to spend the money alone.

      Rob - 2012-06-15 14:37

Still three left. Perhaps they will all shoot each other.
