Johannesburg - Four people have been arrested after being found in possession of dagga in Soweto, south of Johannesburg, police say.

Spokesperson Pinky Tsinyane said on Wednesday that police pulled over a speeding car on the Soweto highway on Tuesday night and found dagga with an estimated street value of R120 000 in the car.

Three men, between the ages of 28 and 30, were arrested along with a 54-year-old woman, said Tsinyane.

They will appear in the Meadowlands Magistrate's Court on a charge of possession of dagga on Thursday.
