Four murders linked to raped girl's dad

2011-03-27 22:39

Durban - A single person could be behind the deaths of four men whose hacked bodies were recently found near each other in Durban, the Sunday Tribune reported.

Lieutenant Colonel Anton Booysen said he was convinced the same person was behind the attacks in Yellowood Park, Lamontville and Umbilo. Three of the attacks took place between last Sunday and Wednesday.

"We have five cases confirmed and linked, with four people dead and one survivor. There might be more."

Police were investigating the possibility the alleged attacker was taking revenge against a gang he suspected raped his daughter.

Last Tuesday, a 37-year-old man was walking home from Mobeni Heights when he noticed a car following him. A man jumped out the car and reportedly said to him: "Did you know we would ever meet? Why did you rape my daughter and give her HIV? You destroyed her future."

The man told the newspaper the stranger then lunged at him with an axe, aiming at his torso. He managed to escape and opened a case of attempted murder.

Head found in dustbin

That same evening, 46-year-old Paulos "Ndodo" Hlongwa's body was found in Merebank. His head was found in a dustbin about two kilometres away.

A few days later, two other partially decomposed bodies were found nearby.

"In Montclair, a victim was found just about decapitated. His head was hanging by nothing more than a nerve," Booysen said.

"There was also a fourth victim whose head was chopped at, but not completely decapitated."

A body found two weeks ago in the same area was linked to the recent attacks.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Brigadier Phindile Radebe could only confirm that Hlongwa's body and two other bodies had been found during the week.

"The bodies were found in Umbilo, Lamontville and Montclaire," she told Sapa.

She would not discuss other details reported in the newspaper.

"All I can say is we have an investigations team working on it."

Bound to happen... SAPS & Gov isn't helping us, so rogues will start surfacing. There's only so much we can take until the rapes get to us. Please note that by "us" I'm not referring to a specific race group. I'm referring to all of us who have to suffer.

      g1mme - 2011-03-28 08:44

      ^^Ditto^^

      Jaimo - 2011-03-28 09:13

SA the rape and murder capital of the world! Whose misguided and uninformed bishop Tutu and other 'intellectuals' have a lot to say about Israel and the Palastinians. Pathetic!

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 09:29

I offer my axe sharpening services to this dad. Seems it's losing it's edge. The last couple of necks were still attached!

      VeloCity Hero 21 - 2011-03-28 09:42

well done to the father " Give that man a bells" Bravo Bravo

      Thangy - 2011-03-28 10:04

Bloody good show!! Either this government reinstates the death penalty or citizens will enforce it!

      63Starlight - 2011-03-28 10:07

Jo, I wouldn't call him a rogue. I would call him a caring, tortured father who knows the law in this Godless country protect the criminals, giving them more rights to life than their victims. I would do the same without hesitation. Only if I am 100% sure it was them. Good on you dad.

      mlh@24.com - 2011-03-28 10:18

Gruesome yes, but an innocent girl's life destroyed by monster rapists!! Justice....

      happygolucky - 2011-03-28 11:55

Well said Jo...the only problem i have with the comment, is that you refer to them as 'rogues'...i would have rather used the term SUPER HEROS

      Slapper - 2011-03-28 12:13

Oh how right you are. Its not a relative of mine, but I would have done the very same, perhaps a little slowly and starting with the offending parts.

      REALIST - 2011-03-28 12:21

Now this is what I like to hear! It's about time we got our balls back, we've become spineless and fearful - overrun by crime and of which the most sinful lurk in the ANC Government! It's time to stand up and take back what the many honest, hard working, people of this country lost...

      Frungy - 2011-03-28 12:38

What all the commentors here seem to be missing is that there wasn't a shred of proof against any of these 4 men, just an angry man with an axe. He's not a vigilante, he's a murderer, and you could be walking home and killed by this psycho. If there's something wrong with the police then vote for someone who can fix it, or march on Albert Lethuli house and MAKE the ANC do something about it. Don't kill random strangers, that's insanity.

      Sylar_DJ - 2011-03-28 13:02

You're so right Frungy, becuase all the marches and begging the government to do something about crime has clearly worked. You think this person would just go and pick random people off the road? if he did then he's clearly insane, in the true clinical sense of the word, but im betting that his daughter either knew the rapists or knew where to find them, told her dad, and the man did what any caring father would and should do, he took them out, good for him.

      Jacques Jones - 2011-03-28 13:34

@Frungy what you are missing is that he is attacking a GANG he suspects. so whether it is the gang that raped his daughter or not they are most probably guilty of raping someones dauther

      Xolani - 2011-03-28 17:04

@ Frungy, you are so right ... I cant believe News24 people are actually supporting this crazy idiot @ Jacque Jones, He killed an innocent man who was on his way home from work. His name is Ndoda Hlongwa and he is a security guard, respected member of a church in Lamontville. I'm pretty sure he has never raped anybody in his life. You comment is just plain sick dude ! Out of the 4 people that died, not one of them is in any GANG ...

      radarblip - 2011-03-30 15:30

@xolani: none of them are associated with gangs...? do you know them personally? are they your buddies? I hope and pray this dude did get the right men, then justice has been served. F%$#ing rapists.

  • maseratifitt - 2011-03-27 22:52

Is this the case where six things recently gang raped a girl? If it is, and the father was positive about identification, justice seems to be on track.

      GT - 2011-03-27 23:16

Charles "tshabalala" Bronson is on the prowl

      DW - 2011-03-28 09:23

It seems that this father has been speaking openly about it at local meeting places and said he would kill 100 men to get revenge if he could. I am not sure that he positively identified the men, but was simply out to get any man who MIGHT be involved as he was in the area. If they were guilty, they got their just rewards, but it is a concern that he might just be on a witch hunt to make himself feel better

  • Vuzi - 2011-03-27 22:59

Mzansi need more dads like this.

      Jack - 2011-03-28 08:57

      South Africa too!

      Ichabod - 2011-03-28 09:14

@Jack - umm, Mzansi means South Africa. Well done to this Dad by the way. If you want anything done properly best you do it yourself.

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 09:26

      @Ichabod - a little slow today?

      Thabz - 2011-03-28 09:51

      @Jack..hahaha..@Bratt, i think so...

      Suckerz - 2011-03-28 10:45

Erm... No! We need to to be in a position to resort to taking revenge. That means, our sisters, daughters, wives girlfriends, mothers and grandmothers should not be raped. My condolences to the Father and his family, esp the poor child that has to live with AIDS and the humiliation of being violated by these men. I applaud the Father and hopes that he nails the right men and that he gets justice done. Any of you govt sympathizers out there just remember, by govt not taking control and allowing crime and corruption, by not enforcing the law and not enforcing the Constitution, they have also violated this family.

      Suckerz - 2011-03-28 10:49

whoops... mean't "we shouldn't be in a position to resort to taking revenge..."

      barkers - 2011-03-28 11:37

@Jack, Shouldn't you be at school at this hour? Your comments are always pathetic. Your parents should really monitor your internet usage!

      Mike - 2011-03-28 12:15

where is this place ou call mzanzi!

      ebdg3000 - 2011-03-28 13:25

      And also Azania ...

  • Martin du Plessis - 2011-03-27 23:07

Assuming he was correct in that these 5 ppl raped his daughter, they need to pin a friggin medal on him.

  • ArtGee - 2011-03-27 23:12

THIS..... Iam afraid to say, is the FUTURE REVENGE of SA! If any of my woman have to end up like that girl... I will DO EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!! OOOI! Give that man a BELLS!........... and a MEDAL!!!!

      Martin du Plessis - 2011-03-27 23:27

IF, always IF, he's correct about the people involved, that is.

      Gruntus Maximus - 2011-03-28 07:23

Martin, if this kind of thing start happening more, and yes, maybe every now and then the wrong guys will face a fathers/ husbands wrath, but think on this, what is the likelyhood that rapists will continue with the current disregard for the consequinces?

      Flee - 2011-03-28 08:23

The IF part is a small part of the picture. I doubt he would have just gone out and hacked at random people. These guys obviously have a reputation and thus the reason for his actions... I dont condone murder, but evil like this should not be allowed to breath... I know of many fathers who would probably do the same if they knew the culprit....

  • SamSaysSo - 2011-03-28 02:49

If its them, WELL DONE! Should've castrated them and fed them their own weapons of violence. THEN chop their heads off WITH their mouths full. Once again, assuming its the right guys, JUSTICE....IS SERVED!

  • Slapper - 2011-03-28 04:36

    Give that Man a Bell's.

  • shocked - 2011-03-28 05:45

If these were the guys all i can say is pity the one got away!

      Goddok - 2011-03-28 22:26

Dont worry he will get him!!!

  • Allin - 2011-03-28 06:15

If it is indeed true, GREAT for the father.

  • Thingamebob - 2011-03-28 07:18

Great, we need more people like this. I can see very soon, whole communities going out and seeking justice. We as the communities will have enough money to pay the cops to loose dockets and look the other way. Power to the people

  • Kim - 2011-03-28 07:23

I back the father 100% on this one. Well done DAD!!

  • Verbatim - 2011-03-28 07:24

Good news at last. I hope he made them suffer before he chopped them up. Good on you sir. GOOD ON YOU.

  • Whuyu - 2011-03-28 07:28

It is not just the lack of police work, but also the weak & slow justice system we have.......look at the JubJub case.....veeeery slow justice perocess. One cannot blame the victims or the relevant family for wanting to extract retribution from the perpretrators........I would do the same if I was in a similar situation. Touch my daughters or my wife, you will have to deal with me personally.

  • Brandt - 2011-03-28 07:32

He have big balls!! I do not blame him at all.

  • zibbalans - 2011-03-28 07:35

As long as he has the right people... BIGZ UP to the father!!!

  • JR - 2011-03-28 07:36

This is what I call justice! If it was your daughter, what would you have done, waited for justice, sorry no justice in this country. The criminal has more rights than you.

  • OllieMor - 2011-03-28 07:37

    I totally support this father.

  • branden.hart - 2011-03-28 07:40

It was only time - I have pondered this scenario myself, if this happened to my daughter, and yes I'd do the same, it's not like you can trust SAPS to help at all. The only pity is that SAPS will probably catch the father and prosecute him faster than they would have the Rape Susoects.

      Maryna123 - 2011-03-28 08:08

Unfortunately true... He will bear the brunt for murder - rapists, thieves (all criminals) have more human rights than anyone else does. So sick!!!!!!!!! We have discussed rape and murder a lot, and I decided that I would happily go to jail for the rest of my life for murdering someone who rape/murder a loved one.

      Mothibedi - 2011-03-29 11:57

Hell has no fury like an angry DAD over his daughter, placing myself in his position, I will torture beginning with cutting off 'you know what' and then kill the beast if any gets near my daughter and happily face the consequences thereof as I am law abiding citizen of this country

  • kurtvs - 2011-03-28 07:42

    Kill them all

  • josieMB - 2011-03-28 07:47

You can bet that the law will not look on this action as favourably and the girl will most likely have her dad taken away from her, possibly life imprisonment. We trust no death penalty. Most of us would like to do what he did, blind fury aside, to make sure these rapists never do it again - but do you think that's the best for his family in the long run?

  • Niël - 2011-03-28 07:55

Goodluck dad in finding the last one ! Ever thought of assisting others?

  • kevventer - 2011-03-28 07:59

So here we sit behind computer screens shouting "give the man a medal". How about changing your vote to get rid of the CORRUPT organization known as ANC? No, we sit here as armchair politicians shouting from the sides YET every time the opportunity comes to make a CHANGE, we still votela ANC, and then wonder why things continue to decline.

  • Fedup - 2011-03-28 08:00

Go boy! If it happened to my daughter I would do the same! The useless government, bloody incompetent police force with its moron for a leader all promote vigilantism. I hope he finds all the rapists.

  • Jim - 2011-03-28 08:05

Police are half asleep , so Vigelanty people will arise to do the job. Someone has to put an end to this savage behaviour. The Police are more interested in this than the actual rapes. "bloody agents"

  • Tourmaline - 2011-03-28 08:05

    Good going man!

  • Smaal - 2011-03-28 08:07

This think of how much time, money and effort this guy is saving us all and the best part is we don’t have to feed the criminals or house them. The SAPS should offer this guy a job.

  • ginaclorenzi - 2011-03-28 08:07

I don't see anything wrong with this... It's simple... KARMA!!

  • maseratifitt - 2011-03-28 08:13

I assume the daughter told her father who the rapists are. If I were at SAPS I would arrest the one that got away, on suspicion. Then there will be an identity parade.

      exocist - 2011-03-28 11:09

after arresting him they should hand him over to the father so he can smash the rapists balls with a four pound hammer

  • Molly - 2011-03-28 08:37

If she were my child, I'd do exactly the same thing!

  • Melly30 - 2011-03-28 08:42

Well least the father is doing something about it, REMOVE THE SCUM! Seeing that SA JUSTICE SYSTEMS FAILS ALL...

  • Simon Goodman - 2011-03-28 08:50

As a father myself I understand why he might have done what he did. But all those that want to give him a medal should take a step back and think a little before dancing in the street. He took the law into his own hands, if he killed an innocent man then he is nothing more than a murderer, would you then applaud if he was in turn killed by the father of the innocent man?

      Martin du Plessis - 2011-03-28 09:20

The men he killed were not innocent. Or are you of the view that all men are innocent of everything, regardless of what crimes thaey commit?

      DW - 2011-03-28 09:30

@ Martin - how do you know they were not innocent? If they were guilty they got their just rewards, but as I understand it he has stated in the community that he will kill 100 men to get revenge. I doubt his daughter was raped by 100 men. This man will be caught as he is so blatant and open. He apparently has not even tried to cover his face and there are witnesses who saw him hacking at the bodies with the axe. When he is caught where will his family stand then?

      TWIST - 2011-03-28 09:42

Simon, you are confused. Do you have a daughter? If someone rapes your daughter would you not do the same thing? People get away with technicalities, or go to jail and live off our tax money for a few years, bull shi#t my friend. I does not make you a killer if you protect you daughter, it sends out a message to all the slime ball fuc#k heads that ever attempts to rape. The message must be crystal clear: You rape you die. Every person thinks about the consequences of there actions before they do something wrong, the problem here in SA is that the consequence is that you are probably going to get away with it.

      Simon Goodman - 2011-03-28 09:56

@TWIST You are letting your emotions get in the way of making your point, (and the swearing does not help either). _if_ the guys are guilty then they got exactly what they deserve, no more no less. I am not arguing that point. All I am saying is that, I hope an innocent man was not killed because of the blind furry of a father. Just about every comment here make the assumption that the 4 killed were guilty, nothing in the article tell me there were. @Martin How do you know they were not innocent? Do you know more than we do? The rest of your comment makes no sense.

      TWIST - 2011-03-28 10:10

@Simon, It looks like we agree, emotions excluded.

      exocist - 2011-03-28 11:14

as i said if innocents were killed that blame should be laid at the door of an incompetent gov. and justice system finish and klaar

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 11:43

@Simon - If the law you put so much faith in actually worked, there would be no need for this dad to do this. 'Taking the law into your own hands' is always the last resort in a system where the law protects the villains. Hence the need to get your hands dirty and serve out an extra helping of axe justice. No one has to do this. But our country and law has failed us to the extent that you have a man who is so proud of raising his daughter (whose life was then destroyed) that he felt he had no option but to serve out some justice himself. This is the only language criminals in this country understand. If we all get behind this man, criminals will know that we are not helpless. You rape my daughter I chop off you head. Simple. Effective.

      green_goblin - 2011-03-28 13:05

@simon my opinion is that the father knew who he was after. The first murder linked to this was two weeks ago. The daughter probably knew one of the attackers and that was the stepping stone for the father to find out the names for the rest of the others involved. the other thing is all the attacks were in different areas which makes me think this was planned and he knew who he was after not just taking a 100 lives randomly. I think this father is not blinded by rage but is just guided by it!!! If he has got his information correct kudos to him!!!!

      safather - 2011-03-28 13:39

@Bratt Where did I say I had faith in the law? I just said, I hope he killed the right guys. Because if he made a mistake then he is nothing more than a murderer. In fact, most, (if not all), of your comment has nothing to do with what I actually wrote. Are you sure you are replying to the right person? @green_goblin you are probably right, the article does not give that much details, in the end he probably got the right guys, we will never know, (I doubt we will be given more info on that case). If he didn't get the right guys then someone's son was butchered by the mistake of a father.

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 13:59

by saying he took the law into his own hands, you are implying that there is a law that would have done this (served justice). Which in turn implies that you have faith in this law.

      Zee - 2011-03-28 15:23

Guys you are completely misunderstanding Simon - he is not saying that taking the law into your own hands is wrong, he is saying that you need to be sure that you are suspicious of the correct people, or you may end up killing someone who was never involved in the crime. That would make you a murderer. I agree the rape levels are beyond crazy in SA, and if there is solid evidence against someone by all means castrate, kill and skin the bastard - but I don't think walking around killing randomly out of sheer revenge is going to make things any better here in SA. There is enough violence around as it is.

  • Frangipani - 2011-03-28 08:51

Gruesome...axe-wielding daddy takes to the streets to seek honour for his little girl!!!! South Africa where art thou?????

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 11:46

      right behind daddy dearest.

  • Megareader - 2011-03-28 08:53

The police will now probably catch the father and arrest him. Can we please have a court case where public vote can set him free. I hope that other would be rapists would learn from this and refrain from hurting other more families.

      Bratt - 2011-03-28 11:49

I doubt this dad went on a head chopping spree to be voted free. This is a man who fully understands the law and the extent of his actions. He knows that he will be judged harshly by our law, and has accepted that. What he will never accept and neither should you, is that the people that harmed his little girl will not be judged as they deserve. In short, he is ready for whatever the law throws at him. As long as those who dared harm his loved one get what they deserve!

  • lacisnesnon - 2011-03-28 08:55

SOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD!!!!!!! That is 4 fewer government sponsored prison inmates that us tax payers would have had to support IF they were found guilty and sent to jail for 1 day.

  • mari.brits - 2011-03-28 09:18

and suddenly the one survivor will probably become a victim and the father will become this monster who hacked people to death... a man who has nothing left to live for. bring back death penalty and then an innocent father would not need to give his own life because some selfish undisciplined excuse for humans has taken what is precious to him/his daughter/ his family.

  • jdeeathome - 2011-03-28 09:25

Bit gruesome, but bravo for the dad, faced with the same situation, i would probably react similarly

  • ji - 2011-03-28 09:27

well done , KILL ALL RAPISTS .

      Krush - 2011-03-28 13:13

They are more than rapists. They are murderers. She has AIDS. That is a death sentence.

  • Fred - 2011-03-28 09:29

The courts and the police are to blame for this, if they weren't so corrupt and incompetent and if we had faith in them people wouldn't have to resort to such desperate action.

      Mike - 2011-03-28 12:29

Pen/write your cross where it matters!

  • TWIST - 2011-03-28 09:31

Bravo, I hope this never happens to me but if it does, I will do exactly the same thing. Sometimes I wonder where the fathers of the rape victims are. I think it’s time that fathers & uncles etc start taking responsibility and kill people that rapes. I mean, if your daughter is raped and the rapist get’s away, are you going to allow that person to continue to live – No way! This guy is a hero, if there were more fathers like him there would be less shi#t walking around. You should be proud to go to jail for standing up for what you believe in, in any case, pleading insanity and then acting sick will reduce your time.

  • CraigColinRoyMcLeod - 2011-03-28 09:37

Make a movie about this, give the guy a medal, "a female in South Africa is more likely to be raped than learn to read" [Quote: Saving Soweto - 24 hours in trauma at bara] Anyone know where I can buy axes whole sale, or maybe a chain saw.. hmm so many ideas, so many ways to deal with them. I would be happy to help this guy succeed. He is made of win :)

  • Susannomore - 2011-03-28 09:44

This is what happens when crimes against woman are left in a filing cabinet. I have no symphathy for the men whose bodies were found.

      evan.retief - 2011-03-28 09:55

      Couldn't agree more.!

      exocist - 2011-03-28 14:08

should feed the pieces to the pigs, but the poor pigs would get aids

      Xolani - 2011-03-28 16:19

He killed wrong people at random !!! get your facts before supporting criminal activities

      Susannomore - 2011-03-29 10:43

@Xolani - who says that he killed the wrong people? Who says that it was at randon? The statement is not only disproved at this stage, but does not make sense? You sir, should follow your own advise.

  • steve jessop - 2011-03-28 09:49

kill em all and let god sort em out !!!!! viva vigilante justice !!!!! we the only ones who can get rid of these animals!!! justice she isnt blind shes a money hungry whore

  • monray75 - 2011-03-28 09:53

Its by damn time sum1 sets an example. Pity the father will now face our unfair justice system that protects the bastards that raped his daughter.I support the father on this 100%.Mayb next you could chop off rapist Zuma head

  • michaelph - 2011-03-28 09:53

I have 2 daughters and would do exactly the same thing to anyone who raped them without thinking twice. How do we support the dad?

      monray75 - 2011-03-28 10:32

good question, how do we support this hero.Any suggestions ppl

  • nic69ers - 2011-03-28 09:57

I would do exactly the same!! Yeah give him a freakin office at the SAPS and he should charge daily rates for his services. Pigs in SA are useless and more concerned about beating up restaurant goers instead of doing their goddam job!! Sad how we applaud this but when this beautiful country is run by thieves, rapists and complete incompetent morons i guess this is the order of the day!!

Bloody good show!! Either this government reinstates the death penalty or citizens will enforce it!

hey man i would do the same thing if one of mine was violated ... the police in this country move too slow unless it is an international case. Maybe it is the large bellys and the attrction to their safe desks. This guy has sent a message and set the standard for how to deal with rapists - he must know for sure that they did it.....because this muther is committed.

Our South African people are tired of being victims....this is going to happen more and more as people continue to lose faith in the justice system... i just hope this dad is killing the right men.
