Bloemfontein - Police are searching for a man from Makwane village in the Qwaqwa region on Monday after his wife was found murdered, Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said.

Nthatisi Mazibuko, 23, of Lusaka section, Makwane village, was found by her sister in her home at 07:20 on Sunday.

The woman, who lived in the same village, knocked on her sister’s door but received no response.

"She forcefully pushed open the door and saw blood on the floor and summoned the police to the scene," said Mophiring.

Mazibuko's body had multiple stab wounds. She had also been mutilated with an electric iron. Police were looking for the woman’s 25-year-old husband, who had apparently disappeared.
