Minister of transport needs to ban the taxis on the road, they are a danger and just a nuisance! I will never and will not risk my life getting into one!

      Khuliso_Ramaano - 2013-03-28 19:34

Taxi's are a form of transport for millions of people, renting them would just hurt the economy...they just need to be properly regulated and managed.

Drivers are nothing but show offs more people they carry the more they have to impress and what happens as usual BOOM

The traffic police will rather hide behind a bush with their traps, than getting out there and doing visible road blocks and checking road worthiness and drivers licenses.

      Kenny Alexander - 2013-03-29 18:48

I fully agree with you. Seeing big grown men hiding behind a bush with a camera is a waste of taxpayers money. They should rather be very visible patrolling our roads, especially taxi routes.

And there the carnage for the weekend starts. And what vehicles were involved? No can't be, surely not a minibus taxi? They are not a problem on our roads!

  • Tshepo Mohlakoanatshepo - 2013-03-29 10:54

It just goes on and on. Tragedy heaped on tragedy! This appalling loss of life, even our babies (!) is unbelievably sad. We at SAIDI The Southern African Institute of Driving Instructors, want legislation to implement urgent intensive training of every driving instructor in the country to spread excellent defensive driving standards across the country to every new driver. Together with effective 24/7/365 law enforcement, we believe we can start to turn the pattern of destruction of our citizens on South African roads. It is so easy to point fingers at the other person. Let’s check the way we drive. I am willing to bet that if we are honest, we will admit that most of us break the law all the time with impunity. Refresher courses for licenced drivers are way overdue too. Look at the results! It is heartbreaking.
