French couple saved from sinking yacht

Johannesburg - A French couple have been saved from a yacht that began sinking in Simon's Town, the NSRI said on Friday.

"The yacht had started to take water after a seal broke in the engine room while in the Marina in Simon's Town harbour," National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson Craig Lambinon said in a statement.

After rescue teams were notified on Thursday afternoon, a rescue craft was sent to help. The water was pumped out of the yacht and it was towed to safe moorings.
