Gautrain service between Midrand, Hatfield back on track

2015-08-11 06:24

Johannesburg - The Gautrain service between Midrand and Hatfield is back on schedule following delays caused by power cuts on Monday night.

The announcement was made via the service's official Twitter account on Tuesday morning.

On Monday evening the service experienced delays due to a short in one of the two lines, spokesperson Ian Findlay said.

"There was a foreign object which fell onto the catenary (overhead line) which caused a short and actually cut the electricity off," he told News24.

At around 20:00, it was tweeted that partial power had been restored and trains were operating via a single track.
