Johannesburg - A 17-year-old Limpopo youth has been killed, allegedly by his 14-year-old girlfriend, in Ga-Mothapo in Makanye Section, police said on Wednesday.

Can someone please teach our children that it is not ok to kill, steal, rape....for a start!!

      procold2 - 2012-07-11 16:15

spot on,but who is going to do the teaching is the big question here, this behavior does not come from stable house holds.

      zimbobwe.mugabe - 2012-07-11 16:27

@procold2 I know a few kids from stable households who do drugs, drink beer, crash their daddy's super toys while drunk and generally behaving badly. Waterkloof 4 and Thuli Madonsela's son comes to mind. It's their choice!!!

      Ntuthuko M Simelane - 2012-07-11 16:28

Procold, 'stable'? Kids do not always behave the way parents teach them, Black parents teach and enforce discipline in their children.

      martin.britchford.5 - 2012-07-11 17:10

      limpopo lol

      jeffrey.jones.357 - 2012-07-11 17:28

@Procold, An acquaintance of mine was killed in a crash when a matric pupil ran a red robot while stoned out of his mind. He did not come from an unstable family, he came from an upper middle class family.

      phiwo.gasa - 2012-07-11 17:43

They dont make parents the way they use to. Too many self- absorbed people pretending to be parents. Blame it on government, blame it on teachers, the devil and lady gaga... Hey throw money at the problem! Fact is you created this monster... So called parent

      emile.vanrayner.7 - 2012-07-11 20:16

lol, that knife clearly has jam on it. what is that guy in the picture thinking, walking around with a jam knife like that?

      teeceegrant - 2012-07-11 20:43

@jeffrey jones - upper middle class is not synonomous with stable. Having money just makes it easier to provide materially, doesnt make you a better parent. There is social pathology in all stratas of society. As for children, sometimes you can teach them all you like they still go ahead and do what they want. We can just teach them and hope they follow it.

At 14 I was still a kid, knew nothing about girls, was a virgin, started listening to my fathers jazz records etc etc.Today am a man,a husband and a parent of two kids.Had I chosen the life she chose I wouldn't be where I am today. My parents also played a vital role in making me the man I am.

      riette.nothling - 2012-07-11 16:37

You see, that is the key ingredient, parents who teaches their kids how to be decent adults. I feel sorry for children today, they are just wild.

      Tsotsi-Baby - 2012-07-11 16:44

this young girl should be playing with dolls not boyfriends, what was she doing in a relationship at the 1st place for god sake she's only 14...i blame dis on our government, something needs 2 be done b4 its too late

      Ntuthuko M Simelane - 2012-07-11 16:45

Are you okay upstairs? what do you suggest the government does?

      slee.ndwandwe - 2012-07-11 16:51

LOL nd what exactly is the government suppose 2 do with ur kids being o Jezebel? WHat is the government have 2 do with the parents lack of parenting. Really now lonwabo lol blame someone else toe

      Barefoot - 2012-07-11 16:53

I can count many things to blame the government on but this? seriously? you reckon there should be a department of youth affairs?

      Lulama - 2012-07-11 16:55

@ Lonwabo im sorry to bust your bubble but it's more like the parents responsibility to educate their kids against killing, raping etc. and not the goverment

      lonwabo.ramorwalo - 2012-07-11 16:59

people dont you think one of the things that causes dis is poverty?poverty caused by the government of limpopo for being corrupt?this young girl might be in a relationship because its the only way she can put food on the table, maybe she's a orphan...i weighed my points before i wrote dat comment.

      rodney.overes - 2012-07-11 17:16

They want to get a baby so she can get a grant

      sbongezulu - 2012-07-11 17:19

@lonwabo do you think that the 17 years old boy was supporting that girl?

      lonwabo.ramorwalo - 2012-07-11 17:49

@sbongizulu maybe,u wil neva unless we get ol the facts

      sbongezulu - 2012-07-11 18:24

@lonwabe true we don't know all the facts, but that was a grade 10 learner. A sad story anyway, they should hv been focused with their school work.

      tumelo.mabua - 2012-07-11 20:50

I would agree with poverty perhaps if the late boyfriend was a sugar daddy! But the poor guy was only 16!

  • tumelo.mabua - 2012-07-11 16:50

  • delish7564 - 2012-07-11 18:53

Unfortunately there are many 14 year olds in relationships these days. Personally I think they are too young and should be concentrating on their schoolwork.......plenty of time for boyfriends when they've finished school, but perhaps I'm just old-fashioned!!!!!!

  • John - 2012-07-11 18:56

When all the FACTS are known only then should we assume. Let her tell her story. The province has nothing to do with the incident.

  • rob.tubbs.39 - 2012-07-11 18:59

So sad, but unfortunately 'life' is cheap in South Africa.

  • teleki.maker - 2012-07-11 20:00

I could see all comments, pointing fingers, that's totally wrong South Africans.Shorely the kid,the 14,doesn not understand what love means,so what she did is out of ordinary anger any kid can have.Unfortunately, what she could use was a knife.Bad in deed.We as community, should teach children of this universe.Think we so isolated and therefore not doing enough to help out this kids. This is a very shocking nation....

  • lonwabo.ramorwalo - 2012-07-11 21:17

Its time we come together as a nation, pray for a better 2morow*heart broken*,A 14 year old killing for love?
