A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl was reportedly raped in the France township just outside Pietermaritzburg on Friday.

According to Pietermaritzburg spokesperson Mthokozisi Ngobese, the girl’s mother opened a case of rape at the Alexandra police station on Friday after she suspected her daughter was raped by an unknown man.

According to Ngobese, it was reported that a boy took the girl without her consent to “his place” while she was walking home from school.

The boy is believed to have prepared a meal for the girl before he allegedly raped her.

Ngobese said a case of rape is being investigated by the Alexandra police station and no arrests have been made thus far.
