Johannesburg - The Golden Highway, south of Johannesburg, was reopened on Wednesday morning after bus drivers parked buses on the road during a protest, metro police said.

"All the buses were removed and traffic is now moving freely," spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

Earlier, only one lane was open on the highway between Finetown and Ennerdale.

Minnaar did not know why they were protesting.

so what do they want, or were they protesting for the sake of protesting

Dunno about your thoughts, but they weren't protesting... they were rioting. Last I checked it was illegal... Alas, perhaps in this country it is a sport.
