Johannesburg - Former ANC chief whip Mbulelo Goniwe is set to return to parliament as his three-year suspension, for having sexually harassed an intern, draws to a close.

According to the Sunday Times, Goniwe is in talks with current chief whip, Stone Sizani, about helping out with the caucus election campaign programme.

Goniwe was found guilty of sexually harassing a parliament intern, Nomawele Njongo in 2007. He was also found guilty of abusing his office and bringing the ANC into disrepute. He lost his job and was suspended from duties for three years.

Njongo last week expressed her anger over Goniwe’s imminent return. She was retrenched by the ANC in June and is still unemployed.
