Johannesburg - Two men have been arrested for raping two women in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, using a toy gun, Gauteng police said on Sunday.

They confronted them with the firearm in Diepsloot during the early hours of Saturday morning, forced them into a veld and raped them, Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela said.

"Reportedly the two parties later reached consensus that they would all spend the remainder of the night at a room owned by one of the victims.

"On arrival the suspects understood that no further intercourse would take place due to the presence of the victim's children in the same room."

In the morning the women managed to retrieve the door key from one of the men's pockets. They left the room, locked the men inside and alerted police. Police found them still locked up and confiscated their toy gun.

The men would appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court soon on charges of rape.
