Heavy traffic expected on Cape roads

Cape Town – Heavy traffic volumes are expected on Western Cape roads this weekend following schools closing on Friday afternoon.

Department of Transport's Yasir Ahmed said traffic would be at its worst from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening, reported Die Burger.

He said the N2 in the direction of Sir Lowry’s Pass and the N1 in the direction of Worcester would be busiest.

The R27 to the West Coast and the N7 could also see heavy traffic.

“Motorists will have to be patient, because it will be a long drive. If possible, we ask them to postpone their trip to after the weekend. That will help traffic.”
