Jackie Selebi taken home

2012-08-02 17:22

Johannesburg - Former police commissioner Jackie Selebi was discharged from a hospital on Thursday, the correctional services department said.

Deputy chief commissioner James Smalberger said Selebi was admitted on Tuesday and had been in hospital since.

"Doctors decided during the course of Thursday to discharge Selebi and he was taken to his home."

Smalberger said he could not comment on which hospital Selebi had been admitted to, or on his condition.

On Monday, Steve Biko Academic Hospital CEO Ernest Kenoshi said Selebi was no longer a patient there and asked last week to be transferred to Jakaranda Hospital in Pretoria.

Jakaranda Hospital spokesperson Adri Opperman said the hospital had a policy of not talking about its patients.

Selebi was granted medical parole two weeks ago and was placed under house arrest. He was convicted of corruption in 2010 and sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment.

No faith. No faith in anything to do with our justice system.

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-08-02 17:31

This ShaikeySelebi Syndrome is highly contagious. It affects all high-ranking ANC officials who have been found guilty of crimes. Highly contagious!

      nhamo.dzenyika - 2012-08-02 17:34

You were mistreated by the untransformed justice system in this country Commissioner Jackie. The person who deserved to have been imprisoned was the liar (Agliotti) who claimed he bribed you. And guess what, one of his own found him not guilty! What a shame with our justice system. Anything black...

      Jacques - 2012-08-02 17:39

Nhamo- it has nothing to do with the fact that he is black. It has everything to do with the fact that he sold out the police force, with literally thousands of honest, hard working men and women of all races in it's ranks, out. He was a moral compass for so many good people, who was found guilty. Now he's free. Why? Missing the high life. - 2012-08-02 17:47

I agree with you Jacques these communist bastards think they are above the law. They just do as they please. f#$ck Selebi and his illness the dumb idiot must stay in prison and pay for what he has done. There is no special favors because you are friends with Zipper

Selebi: "Anyone for 18 holes in the morning?"

      JohanCduToit - 2012-08-02 18:59

Anyone knows what is his current handicap?

Nhamo. Not just anything. A good majority

      mihaip007 - 2012-08-03 01:33

Deputy chief commissioner James Smalberger said Selebi was admitted on Tuesday and had been in hospital since. hmmmm! What REALLY ticks me off is the fact that the DEPUTY CHIEF COMMISIONER comments on the faith of a simple citizen like Selebi. I wish the Gov. also commented on my behalf and let the media know what I am up to - because THEN I will be SURELY a very important person. The fact that they comment on the faith of supposedly unimportant person like selebi shows that there IS political interference to take care of buddies...

Do you know that Selebi tipped of international drug smugglers when Interpol was going to do raids at the Cape Town harbor? You so stupid, you don't see his hand in destroying so many lives by enabling drugs to passage to all over the world? You deserve the nobel prize for stupidity.

Going forward he should be healthy enough to serve the rest of his sentence, no wonder they don't show pictures of him, he's probably the picture of health and the 'prison' sentence was a sabatical ..

  • melusi.myaluza - 2012-08-03 01:13

These are all the privileges that white policeman used to enjoy under apartheid, they tortured and killed scores of blacks and they are still roaming the streets and all u hypocrites aren't saying anything,u will make excuses about TRC,but the truth is what Selebi did is nowhere near close to what the white man did during their rule under apartheid, just watch the movie cry freedom and u will get a picture and shut up,blacks are very kind and understanding.

      sharon.truebodyvice - 2012-08-03 08:49

Me, I smell a rat. Our honuorable govment spokespessan tells us this dipsh*t needs annal exploration three times a day cause he is at deaths door, the prisons are not equiped to offer dipsh*t the treatment as they have notta gotta da stuffa to sticca it upppa his dirtbox. So voila he redeems his GJC card (get out of jail card) shuffels the pack and then slips out his JTQ card (jump the queue card) and he presto his is in the hands of private practice (The annimal farm hospitals not good enough). Now he is taken home, oh has there been a misdiagnosis perhaps or does he have to fetch his golfing gloves. Seriously how doff do they think we are?

Selebi enabled cargo containers of hard drugs to pass through the CT harbor undetected by Interpol. Who knows how many lives he has helped destroy. The worst type of criminal is the evil policeman, and he was the head of Interpol. May your liver rot away in your body you dirty, disgusting old pathetic excuse for a man!

  • enlightened.bowman - 2012-08-07 16:10

Same bloody picture I have been seeing of this criminal for months. Is he going to die or not? bet you, just like our internationally respected president, he can still make a chick pregnant. With all the ailments listed, that is. These guys only have two emotions and they are: horny and hungry. so, if you come across one and he is not sexually aroused, give him a sandwich. That simple.
