THE Palestine Festival South Africa (Palfest) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal Centre for Jazz and Popular Music are hosting a concert by Dror Feiler, a Swedish composer and musician, on May 26.

Feiler is a leading campaigner for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), an international initiative to break through the Israeli blockade on Gaza.

His tour programme in South Africa will include arts workshops, public engagements and meetings in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

Feiler has a long history of social and political activism. Apart from his work with the FFC, he is chairperson of the European Jews for a Just Peace (EJJP), vice-president of the Society of Swedish Composers (FST), and chairperson for Swedish Musik.

On Tuesday next week, Feiler will be participating in a jazz workshop at the UKZN Howard College campus, where he will be joined by Burton Naidoo and the UKZN Storytellers.

This session will be followed by the concert at 6 pm. Tickets are R50 for adults, R30 for pensioners and all students have free entry. Inquiries and to book: phone Thulile Zama at 031 260 3385 or e-mail zamat1@ukzn.ac.za — Arts Editor
