Johannesburg - Traffic would be diverted around the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg this weekend to accommodate crowds for the Bon Jovi and Justin Bieber concerts, metro police said on Saturday.

"Traffic will be diverted on some of the roads around FNB Stadium this weekend," said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

"The Soweto highway will be blocked off at 14:00 today [Saturday] for the Bon Jovi concert and tomorrow [Sunday] it will be blocked off from midday for the Justin Bieber concert."

He said with at least 60% of fans for Bieber's concert likely to be minors, a drop-off zone had been developed for the concert on Landbou Road.

"Parents are advised to use Rand Show road to enter the drop-off area," said Minnaar.

"Alcohol and braaing will not be allowed inside the parking area at both concerts. The Soweto highway will be open to traffic at midnight for both concerts."
