Johannesburg - A Pakistani couple who allegedly kidnapped a six-month-old baby boy and seriously injured his nanny in Bezuidenhout Valley is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court on Monday. Police arrested the Pakistani couple on Thursday last week.

It is alleged that they kidnapped the baby and allegedly tried to slit his nanny's throat on Tuesday last week. The couple had rented a room in the family's house. Police said the father received an sms on Wednesday saying that they [the kidnappers] were demanding R100 000 for the baby.

E-News Channel Africa named the child as Revelation Jones and reported that police found the couple following a tip-off from the public. The nanny was recovering in hospital.

The baby was found unharmed. The couple had three children of their own, and were apparently expecting a fourth. They would face charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.

frikken foreigners! Let them serve their time in a pakistani jail, it is no where near as luxury as a SA cell and it will be at the paki gov's cost. Then ban the idiots from ever setting foot in SA.

NO BAIL! The law must prevail but also be congruent with societal sentiment. We are thoroughly sickened by depravity and gore day-after-day. No more bail no more min sentences and an end to life=25yrs. We've had enough!
