Journos evicted as Malema appears in court

2012-09-26 10:19

Polokwane - Journalists, photographers and television camera crews were kicked out of the Polokwane Magistrate's Court where expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema was appearing.

Earlier, certain media houses made applications to be allowed into the court, but reporters were removed after officials insisted that the applications were for individuals and not crews.

However, according to a Sapa reporter on the scene, no journalists remained in the court.

Pandemonium broke out when the journalists were forcibly removed. One was dragged out by two security guards.

eNews Channel Africa reporter Karyn Maughan collapsed outside the court.

Riot police were deployed inside the court to keep order.

See wat i mean. Malema is boy. Hes no better than anybody else. Bloody fool wil learn that hes nobody. Uncivilised behaviour by these fools.

Can't see why he got a smile on his face PIG!!

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-09-26 10:29

Zuma had the media kicked out. He doesn't want the Malema supporters seeing any of this. Zuma thinks a media black out will silence this commotion.

  • harold.parsons.37 - 2012-09-26 10:32

Good for the police they must stay in charge and not let others spoil the chance to prosecute Malema. The press cannot be trusted they always have a hidden agenda which is different to reporting the facts.

      heiku.staude - 2012-09-26 10:53

If the press has an impact on the case then I'm afraid the courts are to blame.

  • Greypatriot - 2012-09-26 11:09

The reason for the press being kicked out is that information about cronyism and corruption will be revealed. Keeping this information out of the public domain is critical to protecting the reputation of the accused and the public institutions involved.

  • Kalimowakene - 2012-09-26 11:09

Some commentators on news24are serious racist boers who want to see JUJU in Jail bit like Zuma cameout of his case few years will see JUJU coming out of this free like it or not. All the rich boers in SA have not obtained their wealth the correct way but have not been followed up why JUJU.....JUJU for President.... leave him alone...young black millionaire. - 2012-09-26 11:31

You can type and work a computer but yet you have NO BRAINS??? How is this possible?? You look up to people like that as your hero .... is that because you think HE is going to make YOU rich like him?? You really scare me Kalimowakene .... do you guys not THINK???

      petrus.strauss.1 - 2012-09-26 11:59

We work for our money, if there are 'boers' that got their money illegaly they are in jail, not walking around stealing even more from the poor. The funny thing or sad thing is they actualy steal the money from you, money that was meant for uplifting and bettering the disadvantedged people.

  • mncedi - 2012-09-26 11:30

.Just wondering why they have to remove all the journos, perhaps they shuld have said earlier that no media will be allowed! As for them to be dragged out there must be something that they have done, perhaps inerfering with the court procceedings. Or its just another police brutality

  • christian.denyschen - 2012-09-26 11:47

Hell this man brings the worst out of some people and the idiot out of other, please guys there is no need for racist comments and most is done by whites. How are we to gain their trust and bring this country together if we make comments like this we call ourself educated but most of this comments are stupid and racist. Lead by example people.

      Greypatriot - 2012-09-26 12:02

Are you serious or tongue in the cheek?

  • setsim - 2012-09-26 12:09

South Africans are full of hatred, reading the posts and comments reveals the deep seated hatred my country have for for each other. Racism, sexism, ethnic-ism, etc will distract us from genuine issues

  • tokologor - 2012-09-26 12:41

And then school kids are transported to court to support someone implicated in corrupt practices? SMH. Juju is more important than their education? Bliksem.
