KZN govt agency CEOs suspended

2012-07-19 09:01

Johannesburg - Two CEOs of agencies run by the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government have been suspended for alleged corruption, according to a report on Thursday.

Under investigation were Nkululeko Luthuli of the Royal Household Trust and Rohan Persad, chief executive of the Dube TradePort, the Business Day reported.

Persad was suspended last week over a cargo handling contract worth R50m a year.

Luthuli, who has since resigned, is accused of spending millions of rands belonging to the trust.

The Royal Household Trust falls under the executive authority of KwaZulu-Natal Premier Zweli Mkhize, while the Dube TradePort is attached to the Economic Development and Tourism Department.

Only to be replaced by another. This is exactly their strategy, they all know going to be caught and dismissed, so they all take as much as they can in as little time as possible. And the cycle continues.

How much more proof do these ANC supporters need before they realise the folly of supporting this bunch of criminals.

"ANC wants database of corrupt officials" How is this project getting along This was in February 2012

      DrGonzoSA - 2012-07-19 09:18

Be easier to identify the ones who aren't corrupt

  • patricia.spooner.1 - 2012-07-19 09:16

And they will both be allowed to resign so no action will be taken and they will pop up in better paying jobs where they can practise the ANC brand of corruption again and again.

  • DrGonzoSA - 2012-07-19 09:19

Can we please start sending these people to jail.

Please people... dont be so alarmed by the corruption...South African government was corrupt in 1899, in 1910, in 1936, 1948, 1961, 1974, 1994 and is still corrupt today... the main difference is that, under the current government the corruption is publisized in media...

      mike.burrows.37 - 2012-07-19 10:36

So Hitler murdered people, and the NATs suppressed blacks - Because this happened in the past does not make it right. I thought we moved on to better things not the same things under a different set of clowns

      kgolane.thulare - 2012-07-19 10:52

@Mike ... You thot wrong buddy. Corruption is a result of greed, when greed disappears, so will corruption. My point is some people think corruption in government started when ANC took over, which is far from the truth. South Africa was built on greed, corruption and exploitation of the people...nothing has changed.

      mike.burrows.37 - 2012-07-19 12:15

Kgolane - Was it not the idea for things to change for the better and not to continue with ways of the past. No nation will ever be built on corrution and greed but leaders and parties will fall if these practises continue. Look at the Northern countries in Africa.

When will it ever end? When the 'coffers' run dry, which is not far off...
