KZN Transport MEC talks at memorial service for 16 killed in taxi and train collision

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport Willies Mchunu confirmed the taxi involved in the accident that claimed 16 lives did not stop at a stop street. Watch.WATCH

Cape Town – A man was hit by a passenger train at Dassenhoek on Saturday afternoon, said Kwazulu-Natal paramedics.

KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said the accident happened around 15:00 and he was dead by the time they arrived on the scene.

He was believed to be around 30 years old.

Police were investigating.
