Durban - A group of about 300 protesters were demanding low-cost houses on Tuesday morning at Bhambayi, Inanda, north of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Colonel Vincent Mdunge said protesters had barricaded the main road in Bhambayi and set alight a set of robots.

After some vehicles were pelted with stones traffic was diverted to the Inanda main road. The protest started around 05:00. No arrests had been made.

These people are now protesting and at the same time supporting Zuma, these is craziness...............They must ask Zuma to allocate them at Zumaville (eNkandla).

      gavin.lott.9 - 2012-11-13 10:41

Yet try & get them to work at 5:00 am...!!

      debduplessis - 2012-11-13 11:03

lets hope they remember the Zuma-back stabbing happening against them next time they go to the polls and vote for this corruption!

      art5SA - 2012-11-13 11:05

Maybe the PROTESTERS should enquire for RDP houses from the Dept of Public Works... They seem to think it is OK to spend Tax Payers money for Zuma's PERSONAL KAYA....!!! Once again the ANC shows it's voters the MIDDLE FINGER!!!!

  • mercia.willox - 2012-11-13 10:18

      lorain.maseko - 2012-11-13 10:54

Mercia you are an idiot who said anything about free? they want LOW COST HOUSING,that should indicate there is some COST involved.

  • debduplessis - 2012-11-13 10:19

Not surprised ... especially seeing Nkandla has been built for selected personal reasons with taxpayers money ear-marked for RDP housing for all!

  • jackal666.daniel - 2012-11-13 10:22

Sorry boys Zuma needs a new helipad!

      debduplessis - 2012-11-13 10:56

  • muke.matshaba - 2012-11-13 10:33

If the leaders r reckless with tax payers money the answer will allways b this and more tensions r still to follow,we r all equal before the eyes of the Creator but some people r more equal to others

      art5SA - 2012-11-13 11:06

Sooner than later, the masses are going on an ALL OUT PLUNDERING MISSION.... I say within the next two years.... Lybia... HERE WE COME!!!

  • werner.vandeventer - 2012-11-13 10:42

Muke, if we are all equal in the eyes of your creator why is this country in the state it is? No religion means no wishing on nothing, no broken promises. Sooner everyone stops believing in fairytales the sooner people can look at all these issues differently instead of waiting for imaginary friends to fix all this. Thats the reality

  • stanton.clarke - 2012-11-13 10:43

How to get a house : Go to school and work hard at it, find a job, apply for a mortgage.

  • james.harold.946 - 2012-11-13 10:45

Needing housing is one thing, barricading off roads, stoning vehicles and burning robots is another. Those people need to be arrested and thrown in a cadge for a long time.

      art5SA - 2012-11-13 11:07

CADGE? Surely you meant a CAGE...?? "Grab a BADGE on yourway to the CADGE.."!!! LOL!

      james.harold.946 - 2012-11-13 11:39

How silly of me sorry cage not cadge. AS IF THAT'S THE POINT. Keep your pants on Art.

  • terrylee.heuer - 2012-11-13 10:46

By all means protest but why do you people always have to throw stones at vehicles bunch of idiots??!!!! Hey Zuma you got the most votes for a second term from KZN you better sort these people out with houses!!!

  • zahir786 - 2012-11-13 10:48

Zoooma and his meeenisters get the Billion Rands for houses and you get the gutter!(wait! that's been stolen (By you) and sold for scrap metal!) hahaha, And you STILL support them! The irony.

  • werner.vandeventer - 2012-11-13 10:49

Dead on, clarke. The masses already have the 'demand' mindset. Demand demand demand, not working hard and earn what you want, just ask for it and if it doesnt fall on your lap start trashing everything. Dark days

  • debduplessis - 2012-11-13 10:58

Sorry boys .... Zuma stole all our money for your houses to build his own "private retreat" --- I hope you remember this when the X is put on the next lot of election papers

  • aspruyt - 2012-11-13 12:53

  • amanda.terblans - 2012-11-13 13:50

can Mr Zuma not accommodate these people at his village, apparently lots of spare bedrooms there. fact is these people have become so accustomed to getting what they want by demanding and violence and damaging state and private property that it is the norm for them . eisch so many houses could have been built with that 280 million :-(

  • TawwaTienie - 2012-11-13 17:49

Nkandla have more than enough space and with all corruption money they can build and live like the king of zululand. Who voted for corrupted anc?
