Durban – The body of a woman was found with her throat slit in Scottburgh on the South Coast, the KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said Gcinephi Shangase, 53, of Umgayi Ward in Sawoti, was found on a nearby farm with her throat cut open.

“It is alleged that Sawoti SAPS had received a report of a missing person and proceeded to Umgayi Ward on Monday afternoon.

Police were informed later by the complainant that the missing person had been found dead,” Naicker said.

Anybody with information should contact Detective Constable Mfanelo Mchunu of the Sawoti police on 039 971 9000 or Crime Stop on 086 00 10111.
