Johannesburg - A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death in Klerksdorp, North West police said on Monday.

Police spokesperson Amanda Funani said the man was stabbed on Sunday night.

"The deceased and the suspect had an argument, when the suspect allegedly took a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest."

She said a 27-year-old man had been arrested for murder.

"The suspect was also injured during the alleged incident, and was admitted to a local hospital under police guard."

In a separate incident an 18-year-old youth was arrested in Ikageng, near Potchefstroom, for a business robbery.

Funani said the youth and three others allegedly threatened and assaulted workers at a tuckshop before stealing cellphones and prepaid airtime vouchers to an estimated value of R3 500.
