Johannesburg - Czech businessman and attempted murder suspect Radovan Krejcir has accused the state of using taxpayers’money to “hold me hostage to their conspiracy theories”.

Krejcir wrote a six-page letter to Eyewitness News in response to allegations made about him on eNCA programme Checkpoint.

In the show, a former associate, Miloslav Potiska, accuses Krejcir of involvement in several murders, including that of top underworld figure Cyril Beeka.

In 2011, the Mail & Guardian reported that Potiska was involved in an incident at an electronics shop in Pretoria West.

Potiska has offered to turn state witness against Krejcir, reports EWN. In Checkpoint, Potiska claims Krejcir lived the high life in the Czech Republic but in South Africa lived off of his mother.

The Czech businessman says he met Potiska through longtime friend Jan Charvat. He says Potiska was “completely incompetent” and was a drug addict.

Krejcir is currently on trial for attempted murder, kidnapping and assault.
