It's believed that the state and defence have accepted the next witness's evidence, so the person won't be called to the stand.

It's also believed that the defence will now apply for a dismissal of the case but we'll hear more once court resumes.

Dewani's trial could be close to collapse, a law expert says, after a string of blows to the prosecution's evidence.

Lawyer William Booth told the UK's Daily Mail that Dewani's legal team could apply within the next few days to have the case discharged after fresh claims it is "short on evidence".
