In honour of former president Nelson Mandela, President Jacob Zuma has declared Sunday 8 December a national day of prayer and reflection.

Giving South Africans across the country time to reflect during this time of mourning.

Mandela's funeral will be held on Sunday 15 December, and various political leaders have already announced they will be attending the event.

The country has also declared 10 days of mourning and South African flags are being flown at half mast.

Madiba will be laid to rest in Qunu in the Eastern Cape.
