Johannesburg - Two police officers charged with corruption were granted bail, while one accused of business robbery was kept in custody and his case postponed to 18 December, Limpopo police said on Thursday.

Warrant officers Richard Mawasha, 51, and Simon Kutumela, 48, each received R1 000 bail and their corruption case was postponed to 5 January in the Seshego Magistrate's Court, said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

Their suspensions were being processed.

Mawasha and Kutumela were arrested during a sting operation by the anti-corruption team earlier this week for allegedly demanding R15 000 and R5 000 respectively from a man to clear his record and fraudulent identity case.

Constable Mpho Malatjie, 29, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Thursday on a charge of business robbery, said Mulaudzi.

"The case was remanded to 18 December for further investigation and he is still in custody. The member is on automatic suspension."

Malatjie was arrested for allegedly robbing a petrol station shop on Tuesday.
