Polokwane - Limpopo police officials arrested three of their most wanted armed robbers in Mashashane, outside Polokwane, on Sunday morning, police said.

Colonel Ronel Otto said the robbers have been terrorising the Mashashane community and surrounding villages.

"The three, who also masqueraded as defence force members, had kept Pakistani business owners under siege and police were hot on their heels for two business robberies in the area."

The three were allegedly on their way to rob a local businessman when they were arrested at 03:00. Police recovered two sets of defence force uniforms and two firearms and ammunition.

"The suspects, aged between 27 and 33, have been linked with a spate of business robberies in Seshego and will appear before the Matlala Magistrate's Court on Monday," Otto said.
