Polokwane - The case against a Limpopo man accused of raping a 6-year-old girl was postponed by the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Limpopo police said.

Lesley Thupane, 44, would appear again on October 16, when he would bring a bail application, Constable Moses Molepo said.

The girl was playing in Thupane's garden when he allegedly grabbed her and took her into his house in Ga-Mothiba, Nobody Section, and raped her on Saturday morning.

Later that day, a family member noticed there was something amiss with the child and took her to a hospital, said Molepo

Police were called when doctors confirmed the rape.
