Mahlangu guilty of ET murder

2012-05-22 15:09

Ventersdorp - Chris Mahlangu has been found guilty of the murder of Eugene Terre'Blanche. His co-accused, Patrick Ndlovu, was acquitted on the murder charge, but found guilty of housebreaking.

Mahlangu and Ndlovu were charged with beating Terre'Blanche to death in his farmhouse outside Ventersdorp, in the North West, on 3 April 2010.

Both pleaded not guilty to murder, housebreaking, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

Mahlangu claimed he acted in self-defence. Ndlovu denied involvement in the crime.

He was acquitted on the murder charge, but was found guilty of housebreaking.

Was there no one behind Mahlangu this time Roger?

      Roger - 2012-05-22 15:30

@Pythagoras : Cant say would just be a very wired picture, dont you think.

      Thando - 2012-05-22 19:36

@Pythagoras - I thought ET was behind Mahlangu , hence the murder.....

  • rechelleenvictor.heldsinger - 2012-05-22 15:13

At last some justice! kry vir julle julle bliksems!

  • Gin - 2012-05-22 15:14

Thumbs up to the judge! Stick those murdering sobs in jail and lose the key!!

  • leoa.martins - 2012-05-22 15:14

So there is some sort of justice afterall. I say bring back the death penalty because the money we will be spending on sending this individual to jail and maintaining him there, could have been used to save people in REAL need, so now more innocent people in need will die because of another criminal.....go figure!

  • jenny.sykes2 - 2012-05-22 15:15

This has defiantly made my day!!!! Justice has been served!!! There is still hope. . . .

      Jan - 2012-05-22 16:20

Justice has so not been served. The stupid justice system thinks that when they give a verdict, justice is served. Justice will not be served on the guilty: they will be put in the protective custody of the state for a few years, and then released. Nobody will be allowed to serve justice on them. Justice will be served when they part ways with their bloodstained flesh and stand before their maker to account for their deeds.

      jenny.sykes2 - 2012-05-24 15:29

      wishful thinking. . .

  • E=MC2 - 2012-05-22 15:16

about freaking time someone was found guilty!

      Thebe Ramokgopa - 2012-05-22 15:42

remind me again, was that boere seun who killed 5 innocent people sentenced,,.ooh i heard he got married a few months back, i guess thts how justice should be in this country

      ilzeb - 2012-05-22 15:54

@ Thebe and the people being killed on farms?? I don't see that anything is being done to stop this. Yet those killers also go and get married we just don't read about them because our government doesnt care that the poor farmers are being slaughtered.

      Thando - 2012-05-22 19:37

Guys there needs to be justice on both sides - both your points are valid

  • Donne.3 - 2012-05-22 15:16

  • Bomb - 2012-05-22 15:17

The right thing for you would be to figure out how to turn off caps lock.

      mihaip007 - 2012-05-22 15:24

what was that "right" thing you speak of? Is it that African Tendency to KILL and use VIOLENCE? Oh yeah....

      James - 2012-05-22 15:26

So murder is the right thing? I suggest you rather brush up on what Mandela stood for before you make off centred comments like that.

      altusvanzyl - 2012-05-22 15:28

So it would be okay for me to kill you coz you're a racist?

      Gee - 2012-05-22 15:32

Mariette-bietjie lank onder die stuped boom gele ne?

      Corne - 2012-05-22 15:33

As an ABSA client, I am shocked by your statement. Do all ABSA employees support murder? No matter what you thought of ET, murder can never be condoned!

      Dieter - 2012-05-22 15:35

marriette, i wonder what you employer "ABSA" will say about that comment? will send them a email and ask if that is their views aswell ... let see if you still have a job next week!!

      Marion - 2012-05-22 15:45

@Mariette - You are pathetic and I doubt very much whether God will forgive you when you have hatred in your heart.

      marietjie.davel - 2012-05-22 16:04

you are one ignorant woman aint you? ANC I suppose? the ones who blames the whites for striking the people with lightning?

      eil33nn - 2012-05-22 16:06

Ja, Mandela is tronk toe gestuur.

  • James - 2012-05-22 15:20

The verdict is right, no matter what your colour and ideals. If you are a proud and true South African you would want justice to be served on a murderer and his accomplice...

      natasha.wolftonkin - 2012-05-22 15:33

I agree totally, there are too many murders in this country.. Its not about colour its about living without fear and seeing justice served!!

      Hugh_Influence - 2012-05-22 16:27

      I second that.

  • Nicky - 2012-05-22 15:23

Dare I say that a not guilty verdict would have caused all hell to brake loose - and rightfully so - somebody thought about the outcome knowing the consequences!

      Marion - 2012-05-22 15:46

@Nicky - dare I say that a not guilty verdict by a judge who believed the perpetrator to be guilty would be a miscarriage of justice and has nothing to do with the fact that 'somebody thought about the outcome knowing the consequences'?

      Mark - 2012-05-22 16:00

My word, seems like every ignorant racist is posting on News24 today. I am white and very much ashamed of all the disgusting racist remarks being published. Are you that fearful of people of a different skin colour that you resort to this pathetic behaviour?

      Manu - 2012-05-22 16:47

Nicky, are you suggesting that the judge found them guilty not because they are guilty but because of fear of the reaction of whites? And you think that this is right? Wow

  • heather.scheepers3 - 2012-05-22 15:24

  • catgirl1971 - 2012-05-22 15:31

What's the use of celebrating the verdict? They'll just get their sentences remanded in a few years time. Or perhaps they'll pull a Sheik/Dewani/Selebi move - seems to be the in thing these days.

This war is not over, this is a democratic country. Although i am not condoning what the boy did, but i still say, Terre'Blanche deserved it.

      Stille - 2012-05-22 15:41

LOL - really? You dont condone his actions, but you condone similar actions by your peers. Double standard much there?

      eil33nn - 2012-05-22 16:13

@Mofenyi, let justice then come. I dont aggree with ET's point of view at all, but on the basis that he was a human being, just like you are, I like sharing the sunlight...

  • Marion - 2012-05-22 15:38

Justice has prevailed. Sentencing should be appropriate for a gruesome murder. Hope that the Terreblanche family can find some sort of closure now.

      mihaip007 - 2012-05-22 15:55

It takes quite a lot out of a good person to commit such an attrocious crime! I think you HAVE to have it in you to get yourself to kill s aperson (no matter what he / she did! To take al ife is one thing, to display the violent manner these guys did, is ANOTHER thing! The nature is within all of us, just the civilized ones do not act on such behaviours...

  • Andre - 2012-05-22 15:52

The eighteen year old is just as guilty and this is a travesty of justice. If I want someone murdered in future I am going to solicit a child to pull the trigger and he will get off with some minor sentence. I know this sounds absurd, but you will see this ploy used in future!

  • Nigel - 2012-05-22 15:53

No, we still have white judges is what you so clearly wanna say Shirley!

      Aphiwe you racist.

  • Shirley - 2012-05-22 15:58

Lets hope the sentence is fitting for the crime. The fact that Ndlovu was found not guilty is Bull$%@t! He was ther and at the very least an accomplice! We will now see how truely devided we are by race after this verdict.

  • nhlapop - 2012-05-22 16:02

Mara Does white people know the pain that our brothers and sisters went thru during the time of apartheid? i dont think so. the very same man who was killed, he used to kill black people like flies. Me dont care, hes dead now and thats what is matter the most. People need to learn about our past and what our leaders went thru to make sure that we live in a free society with equal oppontunities. Even our former state president Nelson Mandela, he was so brave to say "I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die"

      Stille - 2012-05-22 16:07

Stop sniffing glue. How many people did he kill exactly? Please give me examples and figures with dates and places. I await you reply with bated breath.

      Nigel - 2012-05-22 16:13

You've been indoctrinated nhlapop. " flies" ??? Please list all the names of the people killed by ET. You speak too easily while it is you who should go and learn the history. You've been lied to. Other than that I share your sentiment for a truly democratic SA, and it is a good thing that you are prepared to die for your cause because many of your race do not want what you and I want, and they will kill for their evil racist cause.

      mabotseba - 2012-05-22 16:14

oh gosh Stille are you kidding me? You are stil in high school aren't you? You cannot possibly be that

      Nigel - 2012-05-22 16:25

@ Mabotsema - so enlighten us with the facts. List all the names, dates etc. We're waiting.

      Stille - 2012-05-22 16:42

so mabo - please give me the names of the people he killed like flies? And btw, at least i went to school and i do not believe all the bs im being fed like you lot.

      Marion - 2012-05-22 16:47

@nghlapop - I abhor everything that Eugene Terreblanche stood for, but I am appalled that he was murdered in such a gruesome and dehumanizing fashion. We keep hearing how many people ET killed but no one ever quotes us numbers and names of those he killed. Either provide the facts or stop spewing lies. And insofar as whites knowing the pain that others went through goes, we cannot possibly know. But some of us have tried to and, no matter how much we try to visualize how we would have felt, it is impossible to feel the pain. All we can now do is empathize and try never to repeat the past. Peace.

      monkinsane - 2012-05-22 17:02

So you are saying it is okay to kill people. Cool, lemme go get my gun! [SARCASM - for those not sharp enough to get it]
