Polokwane - Former ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has been charged with money laundering, according to reports.

Malema's lawyer offered to pay R10 000 bail, but the State asked for R40 000 bail.

      elgh.elgh - 2012-09-26 11:14

Your tjommie has been charged with what we normally refer to as “White Collar crime" Not sure if the term still applies in this case though.

  • whites.mustunite - 2012-09-26 10:56

There are only two reasons Malema has supporters. 1. He is black 2. He hates whites

      sebenza.vanrooy - 2012-09-26 11:01

We know that, what's your story?

      mandlapm69 - 2012-09-26 11:02

      That's not true.

      whites.mustunite - 2012-09-26 11:07

No they dont. Most whites hate criminals regardless of their ethnicity.

Sorry Donald I dont understand your comment. Please repost it in English.

      Cameron - 2012-09-26 11:20

Here it is people, the truth comes out. It must be such a burden to carry all this hate for the whites even though the youth had NOTHING to do with apartheid!! Get yourselves! The stone age mindset you fools have need to change!

      steve.gibson.146612 - 2012-09-26 11:24

I think a majority of whites did not like what Terrablanche stood for either?

      jonivdw - 2012-09-26 11:37

Thank God I'm not most whites.... I find its usually whites of a certain culture and age group (tongue in cheek)... Generalising sucks don't you agree? I hate corruption no matter who commits it.... I hate wasteful expenditure no matter who commits it... We need to stop with this black & white cr@p it's soo counterproductive! Rather focus on nailing the scum raping our country regardless of race, sex & culture.....

ohk mr white must masturbate or what, what i dnt know if you are going to understand me or what mr boerewors. what i was trying to highlite earlier i was trying to says this. you white people you were surporting mr eugin terrablanch under the goverment of NP naw us blacks we are supporting our future president.and another thing is this white peps hate us first so we return the favour. are u ok naw or u wnt me to repost again?

      John - 2012-09-26 12:37

@ donaldnorthboi.nkadimeng YOu are wrong squire. A tiny portion of whites supported the AWB, probably less than 0.1%, and like a few others have said, we whites simply hate criminal behaviour in any form, committed by ANYONE! If the shoe fits, then be man enough to wear it.

  • johnny.potatoes61 - 2012-09-26 10:59

Just one charge? He won't be going to jail then.

  • phumi.ntlabati - 2012-09-26 11:00

If Malema is a trustee in the Ratanga trust, then why his grandmother and his son who are also beneficaries of the trust not charged? Can someone please shed a light into this?

      whites.mustunite - 2012-09-26 11:07

Relly? Did you really just ask that question?

  • sean.bagley.50 - 2012-09-26 11:00

He enriched himself at the expense of others.Wrote cheques to his family trust.Did not pay nearly R16mil in taxes. So why oh why again has he been charged? So what you are protesting for, who you are supporting and the way you go about the situation makes absolutely no logical sense. Grow up and take responsibility for your own lives,Malema cares very little for you, only enjoys being on your little pedestal. Go back to work or go back to school you fools. You have no purpose in this country's economy, you have no future in this country if you keep up with your caveman mentality. Malema is a criminal fullstop. He swindled millions upon millions, lives in a mansion, drives his million Rand car, eats the best food money can buy.And you? You so valiantly and blindly defend your leader, when your "leader" leaves you to rot in your pathetic shack dwellings without running water, living by candlelight like a neanderthal. The lucky few who received a FREE house, you have the collective government, and years of hard work and sacrifice to thank for that. When is the "Youth" going to wake up and realize that Malema has no interest in them, their family, their poverty, their unemployment or their dreams and hopes. He only cares about two things:His money and his political career,if you can call corruption, intimidation and enticement to violence a "career".

  • jeremy.thewasp - 2012-09-26 11:02

Lihle sounds jus like one of those bafoons that give south africa a bad name.

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-26 11:09

I think you're the 'bafoon' here for insulting Lihle for having a different opinion to yours! You don't to be a Malema supporter to maintain that one is innocent until proven guilty.

      John - 2012-09-26 12:44

@Beki And you sir, are a Bigger one for spending all your time defending someone who is indefensible! He was a director of a company that built a bridge in Limpopo which collapsed. Nothing was done against the company or directors. The law is quite clear in that directors are responsible for things like this. If you regard this as NOT being proof, then heaven help Africa!

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-26 13:04

@John, You're extremely emotional on Malema, why? Stating the obvious such as 'innocent until proven guilty' does not amount to supporting Malema. Saying that one doesn't think the HAWKS have a strong case does not amount to supporting Malema either! It's a good think that we have a good justice system under a democratic country otherwise people would have been jailed because some don't like them! You say Malema built a bridge that collapsed and therefore he deserves this charge? That's contractual issue chief, there are other legal avenues to pursue such a civil matter. How's that related to the charge of money laundering?

      lihle.majozini - 2012-09-26 14:00

Atleast Bheki u still have tym to argue with these people, most of our white fellows here wil always fight and disagree with any opinion or comment if its from a black person, so baba dont argue with a fool

  • sj.fourie.56 - 2012-09-26 11:03

Malema n zuma are both guilty.

  • nigel.vanysendyk - 2012-09-26 11:04

whats R 10000 when you stole 53 Million

  • beki.khumalo - 2012-09-26 11:06

I honestly don't see Malema losing this case, finally he gets an opportunity to answer to the calls of corruption etc. According to Adv. Madonsela there's not enough evidence to prove that Malema was involved in corrupt activities regarding the Limpopo tenders. This maybe the reason the HAWKS have only laid one charge on him. If he wins this case then Zuma is doomed!!! How are they going to silence Malema??? And for those who wish for him to be killed, if that happens I foresee a civil war. The only honourable thing for Zuma to do now is to step down, he's failing on so many levels. It's a pity that many people are so emotional on the Malema issue. Nothing that Malema has said about nationalisation etc are his ideas, BUT ANC ideas. If it's not Malema raising these issues, someone else will.

      rofras.rassie - 2012-09-26 11:13

We dont need Malema or Zuma, They should go!

      Cameron - 2012-09-26 11:27

U see a war??? Itake it you supported Zanu PF because you have their mindset! The 2 or 3 million Malema supporters WILL lose the war!

Those who own capital and means of production, predominately coming from the paler section of our society, do money laundering all the time! They just call it "cost of doing business"! Even the one giggling Casanova from Nkandla uses it to wash his cars, and or paying for school fees! Why is it illegal now all of a Wednesday that a young black man is doing it?

      jonas.mbedzi - 2012-09-26 11:22

      steve.gibson.146612 - 2012-09-26 11:31

If you have the evidence then produce it and get the NPA to proceed against the paler section. I have no problem with that. If they are found guilty then let them sit as well.

Why only money laundering? He was still listed as an active director of SGL in 2010.... 3 years after the first tenders were awarded? SGL is a "sister company" & benefitted from the OnPoint tender? He should also have been blacklisted with his partner.... There seems to www a few gaps......

      John - 2012-09-26 12:52

I think a STD 5 pupil could run a better investigation into Juju than the cops and hawks. If this is the best they can come up with then SA does NOT need a police force or even the hawks! Pathetic!

  • khwibi.s.aphane - 2012-09-26 11:55

No government is not shady. even those that say we must vote DA, trust me there will always be such individuals. if pipo say blacks are corrupt, do they now suggest we only bring whites into administration? they have been and will always be. As for Malema, i would like to remind pipo that ANC officials and the yuth league benefited from the money Malema made through thier officials. and this is standard practice within the procurement depts, that decisions are made even before tenders are advetised as to who will get the tender. in turn those pipo make donations to the ANC. To confirm it, donations should be traced and surely there will always be a link to ANC. i promise u, even if we change parties, this will always happen. maybe a bit differently and of course we wont question when whites have money because they always had.

      John - 2012-09-26 12:55

NO Khwibi, that is NOT the way it is supposed to be! Tenders are supposed to be open to all tendering companies. Can you see how brainwashed you are as to think that this is normal and acceptable practice???

  • ivan.goodman.77 - 2012-09-26 11:59

The hate that the people have for malema, over shadows the fact that the same tax payers money that they are talking about is being used to fight personal battles within the anc and state resources are being used, all those cops that are in limpopo could have been used to fight crime.

  • papikie.mothoa - 2012-09-26 12:02

  • solly.shaba - 2012-09-26 12:08

while typing this massage I just realized how a bunch of hypocrites we are both white and blacks. I came to realize again that they are very good white people in this country, and the example of such are the very same people who stood by blacks during the appartheid era. Furthermore, they are very good black people in this country, and the example of such are the black heros and heroines who never thought of chasing whites after the realization of democracy because they knew that this country also belonged tp them. The hypocrite part of what I am talking about tends to prevail when blacks/white get to practice bad deeds, and I bet we never judge based on merit. We first look at the skin colour et cetera. I am making an appeal to both black and white that if we really want to leave in peace and harmony in this country of our birth, we need to start treating ech other with respect irrespective of our race. However, if we dont want to leave like human beings, the choise is ours we can continue leaving like animals. All lets stop with all this racist remarks and attack the matters of this country with dignity. Our critics should have eyes to weather your black or white.

      John - 2012-09-26 13:03

Solly, we are on the same page here. Why was it though that blacks under apartheid killed innocent women and children and not the actual apartheid masters? What infuriates me always is the way "freedom fighters" always kill innocents because they lack the guts to attack the REAL beast! Blacks have always outnumbered whites by around 8-1 so they could overthrow the NAT government in one push, yet chose not to. There are good black and white people in SA, but Verwoerd and Botha are untouched by blacks while you kill other innocent people. When do we reach a stage where blacks start adding value in SA and stop blaming people they chose not to annihilate?

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-26 13:12

@John, it's an insult to Solly's comment to suggest that you and him are on the same page. You are definately NOT on the same page, I suggest you read his comment again! Innocent people were killed on both sides during the struggle against apartheid. As young as I was, in the 80s I watched my grandmother being tortured for harbouring 'terrorists'. Don't pretend to be a victim when you're not John!
