Cape Town - The EFF has rubbished a Sunday Sun report that party leader Julius Malema told rappers AKA and Cassper Nyovest to end their beef.

Calling the report "utter nonsense and pure lies", EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseli Ndlozi on Sunday said they rejected the article in the tabloid.

The paper reported that Malema sat the two artists down "like naughty little boys" and told them to end their beef as it was a waste of time.

Sunday Sun said Nyovest confirmed the intervention by Malema.

Ndlozi said Malema did not say any of the things to the two artists during their performance at the EFF picnic bash in at the University of Limpopo’s Turfloop campus.

AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, and Cassper, real name Refiloe Phoolo both performed at the picnic.

"The CIC [Malema] never met the two artists, or had any discussion about their work before or after their performances.

"The CIC also never said any of these things when addressing the crowds from the stage. Instead he made students understand that within the history of Kwaito and hip-hop there is always a competitiveness between leading artists. He then said we must support them both, because both are making us proud being black brothers with their success and impact in the music industry."
