Mbombela - The case against a Londolozi employee accused of stealing more than R200 000 in cash and transferring nearly R5m from the world famous game reserve's bank account has been postponed to Friday.

Wade Morgan Williams, 30, was not asked to plead to charges of theft, vehicle theft, gun pointing and kidnapping when he appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Thursday.

Williams, who worked at Londolozi Private Game Reserve's finance department, was arrested at the Riverside Mall in Mbombela on April 4.

Outside court, Mpumalanga provincial police spokesperson told African Eye News Service that a Londolozi manager, whose name was not disclosed, had been forced to give up the pin code to the game reserve's bank account on April 4.

He had initially refused, but was tied up, kidnapped, taken into nearby bushes and threatened at gunpoint.

"Later, he gave... the company’s pin, out of fear," said Hlathi.

He was left unharmed in the bush and rescued early on April 5 by game rangers.

Soon afterwards, nearly R5m was transferred from the company’s bank account into a personal bank account.

Another R200 000 cash as well as the manager's Land Rover Discovery 4 were stolen.

The court transferred the case to Friday, when the bail hearing will resume in the White River Magistrate's Court.
