Man arrested for perlemoen in Eastern Cape

Johannesburg - A Chinese man was arrested in Uitenhage on Thursday for possession of perlemoen, Eastern Cape police said.

Responding to a tip-off police searched his business on Market Street and found about 20kg of the mollusc, worth an estimated R10 000, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said in a statement.

The man would appear in the local magistrate's court soon.
