Johannesburg - One person has died in a motorbike accident on the D334 near the Buffelspoort dam on Saturday, paramedics said.

"Two men in there late thirties were travelling on a large motorbike when they allegedly lost control and left the road, ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser said.

"It seems that the motorbike travelled some distance trough the bush before colliding with a tree."

The passenger of the motorbike was declared dead at the scene, he said.

The driver was severely injured and transported to hospital by helicopter.

News24 - please read these articles before you publish them. "There/their" not an acceptable error for an English language website ... Poor proof reading as well - "trough..."

      Ettienne - 2011-01-09 12:28

      Well noted and well said.

      position08 - 2011-01-09 12:30

They used to offer a "report problem with this article" type link on THEIR articles some time ago but I notice that this has come to an end. They possibly received too many notifications of spelling and grammar errors.

      Radrodent - 2011-01-09 22:57

Shoot the journalist. This is just pathetic.

      Duncan Druck - 2011-01-10 08:09

If you think this is bad, try reading the EWN reports>

      Phil - 2011-01-10 08:34

Well what do you expect its not News 24's fault that people are poorly educated. Think this is bad? Wait for last years matrics to get jobs....

      pointblankza - 2011-01-10 08:41

      @phil, all the matrics?

  • Gary - 2011-01-09 11:57

    I agree with Sandrak.

  • abezarco - 2011-01-09 13:36

    That is tragic. Biker's condolences.

  • gilliansan - 2011-01-09 13:53

Gee guys, someone just lost their life - someones son, someones dad, someones husband - and all you can comment on are a couple of typos. Get real! Condolences to all parties.

You so right... the sad part is these so called critics breed and multiply all around us, what will it be like in 20 condolences to the family...may your soul rest in peace..

      roadvark - 2011-01-09 14:23

Thanks Gillian, you said it all.

      sandrak - 2011-01-09 17:54

You are, of course, quite correct Gilliansan. My condolences to all (from a fellow biker) and apologies for the insensitivity.

      Radrodent - 2011-01-09 23:02

I agree. Condolences to the family. However, I am one of those critics and it makes me sick when reading a report like this that does not even show common decency and respect to the deceased by ensuring correct use of the English language. Do not shoot the critics. They may have a point. Would you like to read an article like this if it was a family member of yours that passed away. I think not.

  • Doug - 2011-01-09 14:07

Condolences to all those concerned from a fellow Biker.

Condolonces to the families.I lost 2 friend in just over a year because of motorbikes.

      Alan - 2011-01-09 18:00

What did the motorbikes do? Generally it's the person in control of the motorbike that's to blame, or another person in an alternative vehicle. The motorbikes are generally quite well behaved.

      Kenko - 2011-01-10 09:11

Travel on the roads around Hartebeespoortdam on Sundays. It's amazing how bikes come flying past like every rider thinks he is Rossi. It's nice to go around the curves but hell, not at the speeds these blokes do. I've been riding bikes for 30 years and had my spills, so I know what "LOOK, THINK & STAY ALIVE" means. These guys obviously didn't.

I am a biker and I hope the article that describes my demise is at least grammatically correct, and the spelling is correct.

  • Rugged - 2011-01-10 07:06

Ettiene, position08, Radrodent - you are uneducated pricks. Some guy has died and you worry about spelling. What MORONS - white trash.....

      pointblankza - 2011-01-10 08:42

Now now, you probably just sunk lower then them. Congrats.

      ekke - 2011-01-10 09:34

And why do you assume that they are all white?

  • Rugged - 2011-01-10 07:07

As a biker widow I want to give my condolences, I hope the family can find some way to cope with this all-consuming grief. Sad to see that some people who commented have such fury and anger inside of them and can't wait to use the opportunity to unleash it on other people.
