Johannesburg - The decomposed body of a rehabilitation centre employee has been found in his home in Cullinan, east of Pretoria, police said on Monday.

It was believed that the 26-year-old man had been murdered, police spokesperson Johannes Jaftha said in a statement.

A colleague of his went to his house on Sunday to investigate why he had not been seen for a week, he said.

She found the house, at the Dr Fabian and Florence Ribeiro rehabilitation centre, locked but peered through a window and saw his body on the floor.

Police forced the door open and found him dead with an open wound to his upper body.

Some of his property, including his car, were missing.

Twenty minutes later, police arrested five men in possession of the stolen car. They were expected to appear soon in the Cullinan Magistrate's Court.

Jaftha said the murder investigation was continuing and police were awaiting the post mortem report.

It implies that he could have been dead for a week, but 20min after they discover his death they arrest 5 men and recover his car... Tough one this.. Is it a great police investigation... or are they the thickest criminals on the planet??

Once the police found him they possibly got hold of someone close to him who realised his missing car had a tracking device, and then traced the car

The heading is most of news24’s articles

      Joan - 2012-02-28 09:13

why is the heading misleading? His home was at the rehab center.

      Wt - 2012-02-28 10:51

The heading makes you believe that a rehabilitating patient was murdered. The man murdered, coincidentally lives next to the rehab centre and works there. Why is the heading not, man killed in his house? There is no relevance to the rehab centre.
