Man held for Cape Town ATM bombing

Cape Town - A Cape Town man has been arrested after the bombing of an automated teller machine in Nyanga, Cape Town, on Wednesday morning, Western Cape police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said evidence was found at the man's house to suggest he was responsible for the explosion.

A substantial amount of money was also seized.

The ATM on Emms Drive was bombed around 02:30, with an undisclosed amount of cash taken. Three people fired shots at police before fleeing on foot.

Traut said the arrest was a breakthrough in their investigations into the recent spate of ATM bombings in the province. More arrests were likely.

What you talking? The guy bombs an ATM in the morning, "evidence was found at the man's house to suggest he was responsible for the explosion" <- this means an investigation was conducted and the suspect had been arrested by the afternoon. 12 hours, case closed. I think that's fantastic. Well done!

What a profound statement.... Now do you want to tell us Why?? Is it because there are no potholes in the streets? Is it because its probably the cleanest city in the country? Is it because the cops arrested someone within a day of bombing an ATM? Or is it just that it isn't being ruled/ruined by the ANC?

This is another crime that shouldn't be treated like an ordinary robbery because it's an extraordinary crime and deserve an extraordinary sentence. Cable theft, Rhino poaching and ATM bombings is economic sabotage and high treason. Charge the bastards with treason and sentence them deservedly so - finish en klaar!

Now we just have to bust the nation wide SAPS connections before the ATM bombings will stop. That will be the difficult part.
