Man in court for killing petrol attendant

2013-06-20 10:18

Cape Town - A man has appeared in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court for beating a petrol attendant to death, the Cape Argus reported on Thursday.

The newspaper reported that Labeeq Manan, 30, appeared in the dock on Wednesday and his case was postponed because the court roll was too full.

He would reportedly appear on 2 July for a formal bail application.

Lawrence Mandipazano, 34, was hit several times by an enraged motorist at a Lentegeur service station on 4 June and later died in hospital.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed the driver of a BMW driving off, returning with a wooden plank, and then attacking Mandipazano with it.

15 years maximum if he pleads guilty . It was heat of the moment, and he had a cooling period when he went away....he was in total control of his actions.

I have yet to come across a BMW driver who wasn't convinced that ownership of the roads was included in the vehicle purchase ... But indicators obviously cost a small fortune.

How about including WHY he did this? surely this should be part of the news, you see a headline, and you read a watered down version of the headline. When I see a bulletin I want to read WHY to the headline, news nowadays...

      Busisiwe MakaSessy Zidepa - 2013-06-20 15:25

it doesnt matter why,,,wat matters is that he took someones life and he had no right to he is not God

      Edridge Mugweni - 2013-06-21 06:52

This has been in the news from the day it happened man, apparantly the bmw driver was angry as the petrol attendant refused to fill up his tank until he paid. Company policy thats all. By the time he paid, petrol attendant ws serving someone else....thats why he got whacked, or maybe its becuase he is zimbabwean..
