Man killed, 5 hurt in Durban crash

Johannesburg - A man was killed and five other people were injured when a bakkie collided with another car on the N2 in Durban on Sunday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said the driver of the bakkie died at the scene.

Five tourists who were in the other vehicle were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

    This season I have seen the worst drivers in Ethekwini. Overtake on solid yellow line, speeding, stopping wherever, and how much they like their loud radios but there music is worse. The police are too few and dont see.

      I agree that there are no cops to be seen anywhere on the N2. In my area they are speed trapping at any other time, but not now.

    Just come back from the Pick and pay.A whole minivan of metro cops arrived to do their New year shopping. Yesterday at the beach groups of them patrolling the promenade looking for expired licence disks whilst the idiots are are running amok on the freeways, braking hard just before the fixed speed traps.The current trend it seems at the moment is having no front number plate. Absolutely no enforcement of moving violations.
