Man killed in KZN crash

Johannesburg - A man was killed and nine others injured when a minibus taxi and a car collided in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the accident happened at about 17:00 on the Hella-Hella road.

"The minibus and the car collided head-on, the cause of the accident is still unknown."

He said the driver of the car sustained extensive injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

"Four people from the minibus taxi sustained serious injuries while five escaped with minor injuries."

Botha said the injured people were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
