Johannesburg - A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Bishop Lavis near Cape Town on Wednesday, police said.

Captain Frederick van Wyk said the man was standing in front of a house when two unknown men started firing at him.

"His attackers fired several shots. One bullet hit him in the chest, where he died on the scene. The men were shooting at him from a field opposite the house.

"After the victim was shot, he ran into the garage, where he collapsed and died. The possibility that the incident might be gang-related is being investigated," said Van Wyk.

He urged everyone with information concerning the shooting to contact the nearest police.

"...the man was standing in front of a house when two unknown men started firing at him..." In Bishop Lavis and the police "believe" it "might" be gang related - geez no $h1t Sherlock that's a brilliant deduction. How did they figure that... do they need to go to Police College to become so clever? Just asking :P

There is NO DIFFERENCE between gangsterism, ANC politics, Tribalism or outright violent murder.

@Sword&Cross: You are right, but you can even say DA politics...Politics is a dirty game, no matter who is on the helmet. I am sure if the Da governs there will be no much differences for black people, for white people, for sure...

This obviously happened in Cape Town. Why is Johannesburg the first word in the article?

      maggielou - 2011-04-12 23:03

Probably because the report came via the jo'burg office?

      Bumblebee - 2011-04-13 13:36

Wow, have you only noticed that now? Whichever office is responsible for the article, will be credited in the beginning...
