Man shot in neck outside Cape court

2012-04-24 12:37

Cape Town - A man was rushed to a Cape Town hospital after being shot in the neck outside the Western Cape High Court on Tuesday.

News24 reporter on the scene Nielen Bottomley said the victim was still breathing when he was loaded into the ambulance.

He was apparently a friend of an accused in a case, bystanders said.

The shooter has apparently fled the scene.

  • Murechen - 2012-04-24 12:57

Instead of being the first to publish a story, how about News24 be the first to publish the ENTIRE STORY, CORRECTLY.

      Kala - 2012-04-24 13:23

NEWS24. Broken news. First I see all the comments slating the article have been deleted. LOL

      rushdi.toefy - 2012-04-24 13:27

its probably the same idiot reporter that reported on the shark attack

      Christian J Denyschen - 2012-04-24 13:37

instead of jumping on your high horse just think it through, its breaking news if they have 2 wait for all the facts to give you the complete story you'll be reading of this tomorrow and then you'll complain its old news.

      Deon - 2012-04-24 15:21

Yes, stop the ambulance helping the injured person so that we can get the story first? The story is not more important than a person's life.

Deleting my comment about poor reporting then fixing the report hahaha, its OK got a screen shot of it :P #memories

      andrew.pottow - 2012-04-24 14:18

Same goes for my comment, weak! Seems the media who do all the criticising and campaigning for freedom of speech can't take it when the boot is on the other foot! Hypocritical much?

  • Vernon - 2012-04-24 13:52

if he could shoot him outside court, what will stop the perp from going into hospital ward and finnishing him off.they should post a guard for this man.

  • Phumi - 2012-04-24 13:56

Plato should know who he is. He is known to flirt with the gangsters in that province! Another "fit for purpose" charity case of Hellen Zille!

      Inja - 2012-04-24 14:19

Helen will sue your pants off, don't you know that she is broke?

      richard.hipkin - 2012-04-24 14:59

  • sannetsmith - 2012-04-24 14:57

What a shock! it happened right outside my Office Window. i think the Ambulance took much to long and hope the poor man will be fine!

  • lynelc.coetzer - 2012-04-24 15:22

Where's the rest of the facts though? Who was the guy? Good guy, bad guy? What was the trial about? The term "apparently" is used twice. It's as good as me posting: Man in alleged car apparently taken hostage by apparent person.... Also, regarding high horses about them waiting for the facts before it becomes old news - a sharp reporter knows who, what and how to ask when it comes to a story. Agree with rushdi.toefy - must be the shark reporter.

Where in the 'hell' was the Security at a High Court. Surely this area should be very closely minitored in terms of the 'Security Apparatus'. The place is full of 'thugs, murderers, gangsters, rapists, thieves etc, and that not only in the 'dock'... Oh - KFC probably had a special on...
